New players, what they do to realism and how we should take it. Also tips.
New players/sale noobs.
How should we (the experienced players) take 'em?

First of all, i'm going to speak about my disgust with the new players. These "sale noobs" should not be Squad Leaders or Team Leaders on a REALISM server. I was told by another experienced player that "how can they learn if they don't use it?".
Well, that's a fair point, but they shouldn't be doing that on a Realism server.

Now some tips, both for experienced players and noobies:

First, if you're a noob that doesn't know anything 'cause mommy bought him this game for his birthday new player to the game, PLAY THE TUTORIALS .

Second, USE RIFLEMAN AS YOUR PRIMARY CLASS.
I can't stress this enough, i'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of seeing Level 0's running around as TEAM LEADERS just because they get a Tommy Gun. Bolt actions are easy to understand. Easy to learn, hard to master. They're quite addictive, level 50 on my Kar98k and level 33 on my Springfield <3 (Yuck, Moist Nuggets) But you can also use the M1 Garand in Rising Storm, if that's what you like. When you master these things and know the basics of another class, you can try other classes. Go to arcade and try to learn something or another, go SL there. Try to learn the basics.

Third: Don't discourage new players
I discouraged new players and felt bad about it, since the constant waves of new players contribute to keeping this game alive. Take them under your wing if you want, teach them the basics. Don't just votekick them, warn them that they should change classes or go to arcade to learn classes. If they insist on staying that class you are free to start a votekick. If you see him doing fine, give him some tips. Tell him to drop some smoke, mark some arty.

I think one big suggestion for new players is to go to Main Menu > Steam Workshop, you can load any map you want, either with bots for some basic fighting practice, or my suggestion, with no bots at all. You can explore each map by yourself to get a feel for things without being distracted by an ongoing battle. Walk through the maps, taking mental notes of good spots to sneak around behind cover and stuff. Once you've been able to explore the maps on your own without distractions, you'll do a lot better in matches since you won't be nearly as lost.
Thanks to Acriaph for that one!

I think new players arent a problem but they must know all the possibilities of the game for the funniest experience. First of all they should play tutorial and then, for enforcement, see some guides.

Maybe finding less populated servers to get your practice in may be worth a try too in order to get experience as well as applying what Hertuc suggests.

Do not forget using in game VOIP or chat to ask questions can be good for learning from more experienced players to.

Another important thing for the experienced players:

I'd like to hope that most vets are aware that there are noobs out there like me that try our hardest to be the best players we can be, for the team, knowing our place and wanting to get better.

That is all, gents. If you have any tips please leave them down below and i might add them to the list.
Thanks, and gg.

We're in the middle of a steam sale noob invasion. Do something else and wait a couple weeks for them either to figure it out or go back to Cowadooty.

Getting Tked and comissioned out of SL slots may be a pain in the ♥♥♥, but only thing to do is just wait it out and hope some of them learn to play and decide to stay.

I just bought the game 2 days ago and have logged like 16 hrs into it, and have not once touched the squad leader or commander class. Rifleman is where its at for me, since I seem to be top of the scoreboard a lot with it. Question: How do you mark stuff? Is it Z?

Oh and I am going to be one of those noobs that stays, I'm horrible at fps but for some reason this game makes me feel like some pro, maybe I am not so noob anymore, idk.

Mark with the exclamation mark is z I think, but SLs and Tls can mark artillery using binoculars, or F and right click.
Reian 2 Jan às 0:41
Ah ok, I never went SL or Tl so I wouldnt know about the arty marking, but i make sure to press Z on every living german I can find, for mother russia.

be nice to new people. Its what keeps the game from dissappearing. make the most of encouraging them to play. because this game is awesome, im a noob and i think its the best MP FPS ive played since COD1,2 and BF1942. (obviously counter strike/Quake etc aside, its a different style of game). It doesnt actually get enough credit. I suppose winnign best MP FP Sgame of the year is one thing, but more encouragement wouldnt hurt.

You, I, we all were new players at one time. Just becase you've been playing for longer or that your mommy and daddy bought you the game before all these other player's parents bought them the game, doesn't make you anymore important or elite than anybody else.

They can play whatever they want, however they want... it's the only way they will learn.

You said "Fair Point"

Indeed it is.... and that's the end of the discussion right there. It can be annoying some times when new players don't do something as you would expect them to, but being a jerk about it all and basically trashing out the new blood because they're not "Good Enough" based on your subjective standards, is just going to make new players think the RO2/RS community are just a bunch of Pompus D*cks.

And they'd be right.

So you're going to end up losing a match or two because some new guys can't figure things out.

Guess what? The other team has just as much chance as getting the same amount of new players as your team and it can all go both ways. Just go with the flow..... just just a game.

I was a new player 1 month ago and i understand that ppl need to try stuff to learn, i still friendly bomb teammates but i also understand that i can't pick up random class. I start with Rifleman for a lot of time, then assault, mg gunner and so on... last pickup was TL and just after play tutorials twice.

I'm happy that there's many new players around, i hope they'll enjoy the game and learn and stay here and not waste their time anymore on boring game. :P

You consider yourself "experienced"? By a quick check of your profile you have exactly 80 hours in RO2/RS.

You yourself sir are a 'noob'. You are not a veteran, you are not even close to being a veteran.

As far as I'm concerned you're lumped in right along with the 'steam sale' noobies, heck you might have even come into the game on the 'steam sale' for all I know.

Before you get all high and mighty you might want to put a few hundred hours into this game before you come to the forums and pronounce yourself a 'veteran'.

As a player with roughly 900 hours in this game I laugh in your face sir. You need to step the eff down and know we true veterans lump your @ss in with the rest of these scrubs that are just now coming into this game.

This exactly. Plus I'd rather have a server full of new players than one with 10 live players and the rest of the slots padded out with m0r0nically irritating but stupidly laser accurate AI bots :-)

Wow a 'true veteran'!
I, a mere '♥♥♥♥♥', am in awe. 900 hours, you must be some kind of deity by now. Please excuse me your highness for sullying your game with my scrubby presence.
I now understand that I need to stop doing all the other interesting things I'm involved in and dedicate my life to playing endless hours of RO2 in the hope that I too may one day reach those dizzying height.
