Level 50 MG42

Just unlocked the mg42 level 50, what does it actually feature?

Fast ROF, fast barrel swap (still haven't had to swap my barrel once, despite burning through my ammo many times over), sexy sound.

When you level it up, you get a 250-rnd belt.

You mean you got to Honor level 50 and unlocked the MG42, or you mean you leveled up the weapon itself to 50?

If you check your profile achievements from the RO2/RS main screen, you can see what leveling up weapons gives them.

So far it looks like the level 50 doesn't overheat as fast and possibly has a 500 round or 750 round belt.

If it overheats slower at lvl 50 than at lvl 0 thats just plain silly.The overheating phenomenon has nothing to do with the quality that the weapon is in.

Idk, I suppose it could be a higher quality barrel or something silly like that.

@OP: Check your weapon statistics from the main menu; if it doesn't specifically say a feature was added to the weapon, it's probably just a cosmetic upgrade at best.

Only thing you get at level 50 for mg42 is an extra 250 round belt, you unlock the 250 round belt when you get it to level 25.

Slower overheat just because its a higher level? Im fine with getting a spare 250 round belt but this? That makes me a bit dissapointed.
