So.... OtoriShima.
This map is absolutley ridiculous. Playing as Axis on this map is pretty much a guaranteed loss as Allies just destroy you in your own spawn. I have played this map about five times as Axis and have not seen the first point taken yet. Something is seriously wrong.

Don't get me wrong I love the look of this map with it's "bogged down" appearance and brutal Pacific theatre look, but having people join the Allied side just to gain a cheap win is lame. Capturing one objective to start off is not good at all especially because the map is so open, giving the Allies a chance to easily just surround the Axis and give little opportunity for a flank-around push for the cap effort by the Axis.

What do you guys think? What is your experience with this map?

hate this map and phosphate they are so boring. these maps never get voted in. similar maps like maggot hill & guadalcanal get more plays. attacking side NEVER wins because there's so many cap sites. the timer always runs out or the teams run out of reinforcements and you're left waiting for 10 mins whilst the survivors play like it's the game of their lives.

the quality of the competition that these maps won must have been horrendous... they're both so linear. just your typical one-end-to-the-other configuration mixed with trenches and heavy foliage so that attackers are frustrated by endlessly getting shot from every angle without seeing the opposition.

Think I've played about 4 times and never got past B, it gets rather depressing if you only play as axis. Maybe if lockdown came into effect sooner it wouldn't be so soul destroying.

This map shows what will happen if you do not play as a team. Many are afraid to speak on mic's and or participate in communicating. Due to the amount of reluctance it makes Team-play harder. People need to rise above the Trolls and self-important players and mute them. Its so much easier. With the Japanese force yes you are constantly struggling to acheive even the first Cap. The Arty strikes seem less effective for some reason. People have to learn that this is not run into an area and takes some hits and live to shoot back. The ability of Allies to constantly flank and shoot as someone comes out of spawn makes it that more fustrating. Especially as the higer magazine content, faster rate of fire will decimate any attempt to rally for a decent push by Axis. The map needs to be tweaked to stop this from happening. Also I find the the lightening sound drowns out the mic of players when trying to attack. The volume is down lower than the voice for the mic too. I have only been in one games as axis where we got to the second last cap. Every other time it is decidedly one sided. Teamwork smoke and charging as a group wins the last phase of assault on a cap this map. Sniping from a distance is very one-sided. If you get at least 6 players on Axis playing as a team you will make a difference. They have to take the SL roles though and place themselves thoughtfully. We all started as Noobs.. we have just experimented with roles and discovered how to be effective. Even shooting a mg in the general area of enemy concentrations puts pressure on them. It is difficult to play as Axis, but get some good players and work as a team and you will find it can change the outcome.

Phosphate is fun and good looking, Otori is neither of that.

I found very beautifull and intresting both Phosphate and otorishima. what i don't undestand is Maggot hill. Attacker always win there.

Instead i've player a lot of balanced game with both side on other two map.

Played a few times, as both Allies and Axis, and never seen Axis go part A. Too easy to keep them pushed back for Allies.

I like Otori's atmosphere but I've only played it once so I don't think I can comment on that. I hate Maggot Hill though. Phosphate plant is alright.
