Quick Tips for New Players (Settings)
The game plays out (vs veterans) at long range you need to run it at your monitors native resolution (1080) to effectively see the enemy in cover or nuanced movement.

Disable blur and other nonsense.

Field of View (FOV) should be set to 90 (more if you like but it might work against you if over 90).

The cover system while realistic and nifty is often a death trap; bind 'F' as the use key to pick up weapons.

Stay away from 'Action' servers; stick to Realistic/Classic (or any custom variation of the two).

If you live in Australia the best server is 'Aussie/NZ', no contest.

You can add servers to 'favorites' tab using the steam server browser and it will duplicate in game. (game uses steam server browser native, you don't have to be in game to check server population)

ALSO: Germans/Japanese sprint with weapon in one hand; US/Russian sprint with weapon in both hands

Also, use your T key to see where friendly artillery will hit and keep 50 metres+ away from it (same key shows planted satchel and helps orientate you towards objectives).

Keep your head down... if you need to check something, hit the deck until you're ready to move.

have the map button rebinded to somewhere close to one of your hands (in my case my mouse button 5). very useful as to know were the enemy and allies. use mic if you can, great way of communicating rather than writing the texts (text are too small and you don't usually pay attention to the text until you die.)
