Well, that was exceedingly useful, Supercake. I'm sure you'd be a joy to share a gaming session with.

Now, to anyone civilized enough to be willing to accept new players in the game, and who has any actual assistance to offer in regards to this issue, I'd love it if you could please help us, as I am experiencing the same issue as acs above.

I have attempted disabling Family Sharing as suggested somwhere else, but to no avail :/

Nevermind, I've solved it.

It turns out that while I had disabled Family Sharing of MY games, my boyfriend's games still appeared on my library, and since he'd already claimed the game, that prevented me from adding it to MY library.

To solve this, I had to ask him to de-authorize my computer/user on Family Sharing. Once that was done, I receieved a notification that his games were no longer available in my library, and I was able to succesfully add the game :D

Thanks Currix, I had the same problem and found this thread which helped me out.

I find it ironic how you were the one needing help and got someone like Supercake responding like a 2 year old child but once you figured it out now you have helped several people.

Thumbs up to you :)

Thank you, Giselle! :)
It really bothers me when people are unnecesarily mean like that, so I just try to be of help whenever I can! "Treat others the way you'd like to be treated", right? ;)

(by the way... seems like somebody deleted their comment xD)

Didn't worked for me.. i got the notification but nothing.. i can't get the game..
Currix Jun 4, 2014 @ 5:38pm
I'm afraid the game was free for a limited time only, CareSynth :/

Edit: I thought this problem happened only to those who tried to claim the free game. Are you unable to purchase AND add the game to your library?

Steam/Settings/Family/Manage Family View.../Disable Family Sharing.
