there was a whole pile of mods in development before RO2 was released, Rising storm was meant to be a free addon shortly after release, then Tripwire went full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and silenced any and all complaints about the game, then a lot of the mods went quiet for a while.

You are wrong on multiple accounts here. When we announced Rising Storm we said it would either be a paid addon or a free mod depending on how we felts its quality was. And we never said it would be out shortly after RO 2 to my knowledge.

We also do not silence people who do not like our games. We do however have forum rules and those who break them are banned (mostly it is how they choose to present their dislike of the game).

The two active total conversion mod teams for RO 2 right now a In Country Vietnam and Karelian front. Some other mod teams disbanded over time (which is sadly the norm when it comes to large mod projects).

As far as a western front mod, the US uniforms in game for Rising Storm are not proper for the western front, but you are correct. Much of the rest of the material is there.

The heavy MGs are meant to give long rang cover fire and suppress the enemy, not be used like Rambo with down syndrome.
