Using cover is really good
Using the cover system is really not good

Think about every normal FPS you have played (COD,BF,Titanfall,Halo,CS,Crysis,Ghost Recon,Medal of Honor or Planetside) and immediantly disregard everything you have learnt. 95% of the time 1 bullet will kill you.

When in doubt, Banzai.

Don't stick your entire gun out the window. You can rest your gun on most surfaces to reduce sway. You don't always have to shoot right away, it's okay to take the long way for a guaranteed kill.
All guns kill in 1/2 hits. Chest is almost always an instant death.
As you play your guns and soldier will gain levels, these improve your overall performance in battle.

As Japan use Banzai, it reduces stamina drain, reduces damage you take from enemy gunfire and when you stack it with your fellow soldiers you suppress the enemy (their screen gets blurry, desaturated and loading takes more time).
As a general rule ignore the coversystem, it's broken and useless. Also stick to rifleman for the first 20-30 levels.

Coversystem is ok to use at corners but not for poppin' youre head over a wall. There's always someone got it covered.
If you get your hands on a nambu keep it at level 1, it'll give you a better chance against flamer scum.

Personally the reduced recoil is pretty useful and so is the bayonet :P

Welcome to this epic game, my advice for newbies is to read some guide in the guides section.

Seeing as you have ARMA3, I thought I'd ask a favour, or rather, a question… I used to be a part of a gaming community called Black-Legion! Seeing as you own ArmA 3, Insurgency or Red Orchestra 2 I was wondering if you'd maybe consider joining? The community operate around GMT times, so there are not clashes, with 4 to 5 events a week all fun PvP or Co-Op ones!

We also used to record alot of our games. The reason I ask is because we're always looking to improve our community and we would love to see some fresh faces on board!

In special cases, we also have openings for Administrator and section commander positions, so give us a shout at www.black-legion.co.uk or just add me on STEAM and I will sort you out :)

Hope to hear back from you!
