Why are there almost no servers with custom maps?
Whenever I do find one, theres 2-8 people in it, and a whole lotta bots.
It seems that the only time they are played is when there is an event. Is it that the custom maps suck or something?

Yeah....thats probably my issue. I never look at Unranked. It would be nice to have them playing on Ranked servers however.

9th infantry division host custom map server on their battalion server every sunday at 2:30 pm central time.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
Looking at the unranked list right now. 28 servers and every server is empty except one that has a single person playing. This sucks.
Welcome to join 29th Infantry Division's Custom Maps Sunday, every Sunday starting at 8pm GMT/3pm EST. Also our server runs custom maps 24/7 and those are voted normally through map voting and our server is ranked. Server gets busy on daily basis. Be on a lookout :) Join our public Steam Group to get notifications about these events: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/29RSpub

And no, it's not because the custom maps sucks, it's just because people can't be bothered to download those :/

Good idea is to either download the custom maps beforehand:
OR after downloading a custom through a server (so you wouldn't have to redownload it after your RO2/RS cache is cleared), you can use RO2 Cache Extractor to prevent this and make your map file permanent:

(I think Kisho already promoted our event above and by "9th infantry division" he actually meant "29th Infantry Division" :D)

Most custom maps suck. They suck hard.

Tripwire needs to stop relying upon third parties to do their job for them. From maps to hosting servers, Tripwire needs to pull its thumb out and manage its own game.

Hey Tuomainen, thanks man! I appreciate it. I'll make sure to drop by the server on a sunday.

Tig, I agree on part of what you are saying. It would be nice for Tripwire to create some new first party content, but I wouldnt complain about new community maps. Community content does a lot for many games. Though I don't have enough experience with RO2 custom maps to know if they suck.
