Most servers don't run custom maps, mainly because a lot of players ditch out when it switches to one. The 29th ID server has a bunch of custom maps, if you can get people to vote for them, and they run a custom map event on Sundays, you could try checking that out. There are some really great custom maps, it's worth looking around to find servers that run them.
It is very disapointing that more people don't play the custom maps. The Pacific Theatre maps are awesome. I kind of assumed some maps weren't popular due to size and lag ect... than I thought maybe it was because glitches....now I don't know and it's further disapointing.

I think part of the problem is that the community map contest maps wil be added in the next patch. So servers seem to have stopped using them on thier servers until then.

I haven't seen any change on any of the servers I play on, either they weren't running custom maps before, or they still have them. Why would they remove them just because a few were going to be made official?

I guess some server admins put the maps up during the contest to help testing them. Since the contest has ended, they probably think that "the job is done."

However there are a lot of other custom maps beside the ones from the contest. As said the 29th server runs most of them and there is a custom map event every sunday.

You can find a list of avaible custom maps here[29th.org]. There you get links the a direct download for the files and a manual where you have to put the files. If you do that you dont have to download the maps from the server if the map is changing to a custom map.

The majority of server operators don't have the balls to put custom maps on rotation or even have a map vote. Some don't like custom maps and don't mind playing TE-Station for 2 years. This means there isn't much point spending 200 hours making a good map, which is a shame because the custom maps can change and ideas can be implemented unlike the stock maps.

Pigeon please, it's not the quantity but the quality of the players who prefer and play custom maps! ;)

I don't know what you mean by that, the only custom map server I see with people in it is RGN wihich has a small but persistent population, and as much as I appreciate their playing my maps, I can't invest 200 hours into making a map when it can't even be played at 64 players.

I think there are three servers that have custom maps up and running at all times.

The 29th Battalion Server.
40-1 Server
RDN Server.

Having somewhat limited time to play, I have played these on recurring weekly events mainly. After checking server populations over some time, I must say that somehow I didn't realize that overall situation is this ugly. That makes my joke a bad one. I apologize.

Whenever there is custom map played somewhere (ranked or not) that is my first choice.

I have greatly enjoyed your maps PP :)
