Just a dream I have...
That squad leaders could have flareguns and there would be near-pitch-black maps. It would be super intense. I know it would be chaotic and some people couldn't handle it but I think it would be an awesome simulation. Reading soldier memoirs, time and time again you hear of fighting in the night... Just shooting at muzzle flashes... enemies slipping into your trenches ect. With intelligent squad leaders and good team play it would be a new dynamic to an already awesome game. I don't know of any WWII games that have utilized flare guns. Also this would create an interesting dynamic with MG's, since tracers point both ways...

My dream is that the game wouldn't reward lame spray-and-prayers with no skill.

I just sit back and shoot people that do that from like 150 meters. But yeah, I know what you mean.

The thing with spray-and-pray players is that they die CONSTANTLY. I wish the stats would show deaths in battle. Sure assualting is tough, lots of good men will surely perish. But I hate the attitude of people assuming if you're not dying you're not trying. Sure I usually play support roles; but my own team recently was bashing me because I said something like: "hey guys I'm still alive in F, come save me lol" I was just shooting russians non-stop in F (keeping it clear for men to move in), alone, and I'd see my team "attack" and utilize no cover on the way and just get pwned... and somehow me not dying implies that I'm a bad player........ It's like well, "we ran this exact route and died 5 times in a row, lets try it again, and again, and again..." STAHP. Don't be Rambo, you'll just die. Maybe it's because I play MG a lot, I'm slow, it takes awhile to get into a superb firing position, maybe this is why I avoid dying. *If I had a PPSH I'd just run straight into artillary and MG fire, because before I die I'll spray my whole mag and kill someone.* .........gotta lvl up.

I say that to the enemy, not my own team.

Yes, now I remember that one time that a squad leader marked a target for me .... just a dream that I have ;-)

That sounds more like Vietnam than WW2.
