Best Multiplayer game out there.
I have played my fair share of shooters, including BF4, Arma, Americas army and insurgency, all these games apart from BF4 claim that they have the most realistic gameplay and all belive that they are at the forfront of realism.

However Im yet to fiind a game that is more realistic, more immersive, and more satisfying than Red orchestra 2. This game just does everything right and allthough i will go off and play other games that claim to be realistic and immersive i will always come back to RO2 as there isnt another game like it out there.

In my opinion it does 95% of everything right. I urge anyone who hasnt played it or purchased it to do so immedietly and immerse yourslef in the music and the sounds of war.

Good post sir. I love the fact that you dont have to empty your clip to kill someone. One good placed shot will do the job. I also like that there are no perks and leveling up is a grind. If you are a new person to the game and you are getting killed all the time, hang back a bit and stay low. Dont run and gun or you will die. And if you need help, just ask. There are a lot of friendly people that will help you out

Totally agree, played the same multiplayer games as you and none of them touch RO2. I'm even developing a territory style match for my airsoft team based on RO2 gameplay (not WWII period though, we use modern loadouts).

It is great. I suggest you check out Insurgency as well if you like this game.

Yeah, I've been really enjoying Insurgency lately. I feel it does some things better than RO2, mainly the lack of a level up system to unlock weapons and their attachments.

Yes, levelling up is always tedious, but although I generally like Insurgency I find the maps get boring really quickly, especially after the epic RO2/RS maps. They just don't feel like 'real' places, they seem to lack something ... too staged maybe, and a bit limited in options.

Fighting on insurgency maps are fine, but it feels as if you fighting in big indoor studios that feel made up and unrealistic, i also dislike how there isnt a flowing feel to the game, its all stop start stop start and doesnt really feel fuild. Its to run and gun in my opinion. maybe im just playing it wrong but it just feels like a slightly more realistic COD. People have desribed RO2 as a meat grinder but in some cases thats what ww2 was. A human meet grinder and that just adds to the realism. Its epic.

Insurgency is also an intresting shooter, well worth 15$. But Red Orchestra 2 beats this game on every possible aspect if you compare them. The only better part of insurgency is loadout system. But looking at the gameplay in general, RO2 has better bullet balistics and more character-movement options= and that is basicaly it, nothing can cover these advantages if it's about a realistic shooter.

You've summed up my feelings about Insurgency, totally agree.

I get what you are saying, however urban warfare is much different than conventianal warfare (out in the open). The tactics involved in taking a urban environment are much different than taking an airfield, beach, or an enite island.
Excuse me for OT question, but is insurgency better under teamwork aspect? From my experience in RO2(best fps so far) teamwork is often underwhelming and not really well implemented.

There are urban environments in RO2. It's not about urban vs field combat but the quality of the maps. Insurgency maps, even the 'larger' ones, feel staged, artificial, and unconvincing compared to RO2/RS maps.

I don't know if I would say it is "better"... but it is similar and relies heavily on it like this game. However, I would argue the voice chat is better. There are two squads per team and when you talk everyone in your squad can hear you over comms (if they are alive). The other team can hear you as well, but not over comms only in in talking distance. The cool part about it is when you talk you have to be mindful where you are because the enemey can hear you if they are nearby. So if you are one of the last members left alive on your team and you are in enemey terriority it's best to keep quiet so the enemy doesn't find you. It is pretty realistic in that aspect.

I think Insurgency feels a bit limited compard to RO2, its a lot of fun but it doesn't have the epic last-minute charges or pitched defenses that you get in RO2. It also lacks atmosphere which is true of most shooters, RO2/RS being the excption.
