FOR TRIPWIRE!!!!!
...that's all meant to be cheesy, right?
As for historical accuracy, yeah, there's good evidence soldiers actually said crap like this when going into battle. Za Stalina was the "official" warcry of the soviets in ww2. And "There is no land for us beyond the Volga" was the motto of the defenders of Stalingrad in particular.
I recently read a book on the battle of Stalingrad, "za stalina" was pure propaganda. Soldiers say that the last thing that crossed their minds during battle was Stalin
This is pretty ignorant, not blaming you, a lot of people don't know the history. I'm currently reading a book on Stalingrad, and believe me, the soldiers on both sides were VERY nationalistic. I guarantee you many many people said "for the fatherland" etc. And using the word hero is completely legitimate. Its a real word.
Tripwire is trying to be historically accurate, and I've never heard a line in the game that wasn't.
Thats interesting, I'd never actually heard that before.
Something changed, in Vietnam US soldiers couldn't stfu.... Aussie soldiers hated working with them cause everyone could hear them coming.
I think Pistolero meant that US Soldiers didn't have a particular or popular battle yell during charges/advances in World War 2.
Ok, that does make a bit more sense. :)
ps i know alot about history ok soo if u want to quiz me u can
Not really. It depends on how you look at it. I live in the religo-♥♥♥♥♥♥ south. In class every one is out to lie, cheat, and steal their way through University but god forbid a ♥♥♥♥ or atheist steps into class. Than it's an entire class hour of arguements on why your going to hell. Answer: because the bible said so. Worst off the youth is more tolerant than the previous generation and they act like this. America is only religious for the sake of confrontation I.E. They don't pray or go to church but insult their faith that they don't even believe in then it's war. And seeing how American history is built on everything the peaceful version of the bible stands against than I imagine they were name sake religious back then as well.
