Teamkill penalties
I'm getting tired of being shot down by my own men. It's the most annoying when I'm getting close to the enemy cap zone as the Squad Leader so our people won't have to run 100-200 meters to get to it. The bad thing is most of the time the beginners don't even realize that they killed their teammate. We need a new warning message that pops out in the middle of the screen or something like that. We also need bigger penalties, like -5 team points when killing a soldier in a capzone, -10 for killing a SL, -15 for killing a SL in a capzone, -25 for killing a Commander and -30 for killing the Commander in the capzone.

add in an insta kick for TKing own tank with stachel/ AT grenade and you got my vote

I agree with all the above.

It reminds me of my last game on saturday, I was doing the russian bayonet charge out of apartments spawn and i opened the map for a second and the guy naturally released his bayonet on the stack of friendlies climbing the fence to the river and I got instantly kicked from the server. I was like THERES NO WAY I JUST DID THAT:D

I am not sure about more penalty points ... but I definitely agree about a more visible message for the shooter, that he currently killed one of his own ... maybe a red flashing message in the middle of the upper screen border for 3-5 seconds that says "You just killed a team mate"

I agree tk is annoying but i would also say if the satchel charge is destroying a map target the auto kick etc is a pain.

The number of times i have played as an engie -been asked to blow a door - Warned im placing the charge(Typed and verbally) then watch as people in my team disregard the warning and start gathering on top of it.. So i'm yelling in the comm 'Please move away from the charge - there is a charge at A door Move guys move' ...Boom

You have been kicked from server for tking....

Now thats really annoying...

Same thing goes for the Arti situation the TL faces.. The number of times i hear TL screaming for people to clear or not go in a zone they will arti in 30 secs and boom same thing..

Well I think it's easy to avoid those just don't throw a satchel when there 10 guys close yo you or don't call arty when you have to ask people to stay back. When youre doing such things and calling risky artys it's only your fault.

You can also keep your map open when the arty hits and jsut cancel it when someone gets too close, most people just get too creedy and try to kill all the enemies even tho it's obvious it's going to hurt friendlies as well.

Most servers have a TK limit / server kick feature, then again I don't TK to test out the values of this... so perhaps minus more points would make sense. Maybe just make the TK flash in the top right, there's already too much HUD bs in my opinion...

What's really annoying is when I call out the location of fire support, call the fire support in, repeat the coordinates two more times to my team, and see blue dots running towards the massive explosions......... then people will be like TL YOU SUCK OMG TK TK TK CANCEL ARTY CANCEL ARTY.... but for you people that understand tactics and follow a strategy, thank you. (ie get to 100meteres distance of objective, wait for naval barrage, SLs smoke, BANZAI TO VICTORY)

Also people need to consider one TK from arty is acceptable if like 10 enemies get taken out at the same time. War is hell.

I don't know if its just me but I am obsessed with tactical view and checking my map....probably started because of playing so much type 89 mortar :) .....people need to check their map, if blue dots are infront of you, don't blind fire/throw a grenade!!!!

Don't run walk or crawl near a type 89 mortar, HMG or LMG that is deployed!!!

Add flamethrowers to that list.

I understand your opnion on letting people know that they are teamkilling.

However, an aspect of the game is the difficulty of confirming a hit, or even a kill. This counts for teamkills and enemy kills.

Ouch.

For me, people suddenly running in front of my hand mortar are a PITA ...
more than once it has happened that I was busy raining death with my hand mortar onto the gaijin and suddenly some noob ran from one side of my FOV to the other, just at the moment I released a shot ...
meaning that he got hit, which killed him, myself and all too often several persons around me as well, giving me a massive penalty for the TKs (and in one case even getting me kicked)

Of course often accompanied by the culprit not forgiving the Teamkill.

Higher penalties might encourage griefing. I remember in americas army that people used to go sit behind your rpg so that the backblast would get you kicked and they could steal your role. And in enemy territory some people used to intentionally sit on your deployed mortar so you would end up with a suicide+tk.
