I can only use the rifleman class?

Hey, I bought this game about 2 years ago and recall having lots of fun with it. I never tried the single player but the multiplayer was very fun. However after coming back to it, I can't use any other weapon class online. And then it tells me I need to own Rising Storm to use any other class.

I looked it up and found something on how they made the game available to everyone, but if you didn't own Rising Storm you were limited to the rifleman. So do I have to buy Rising Storm to use different classes even if I didn't have to before? If not I'd like some clarity, thanks

Well I'm just clearing that up as there's rhe $10 rising Storm deluxe upgrade. But you need rising Storm for that even though it'll let you buy it without RS.

You should have access to all classes on all non RS maps, that would be all of the Red Orchestra 2 maps.

Yeah, you can play all the classes in the base game, they just included the RS expansion for free with that for you. So really you have basically all of RS free, you just have to pickup weapons off the ground if you want an smg or something. The only thing really totally off limits to you without buying the expansion totally is artillery, recon, and flamethrowers, cause those require particular roles.

But you don't seem to understand, I used to be able to play all the classes in multiplayer. I never played the singleplayer, and I was able to play any of the available classes in multiplayer. Why would they set this after I have already bought the game?

If I really have to buy another game to play the classes in this game, then why would I bother? I like the games for their multiplayer, and I have no reason to spend $20 just so I can play multiplayer to it's fullest.

When you say you could play all the classes, was that just in the European Eastern front and not the pacific, or could you play everything for a day or two and you stopped playing? If I was on a free weekend all the RS stuff would have been unlocked.

No, I bought the game, and it was not a free weekend. I recall playing on certain maps with no class conscritions and now they are not all available to me on those same maps. I played the game for longer than over the course of 2 days, more like a month.

Hmm, my buddy didn't buy Rising Storm, and he can play any class in Heroes of Stalingrad maps. And even on Rising Storm (since it is apparently included by default) he can play any class, but it doesn't keep levels on them.

Rising storm isn't a free DLC. They are kind enough to let you play that game without owning it so stop being an ***. You can go play the game you bought (heroes of stalingrad) german vs Russia as much as you want.
