Game Crashes On Loading Server Browser
see title: have been playing this game no problems for years and then out of nowhere it crashes 100% of the time moments after loading the server browser.

has anyone had this problem before?

Me too, crashes when I click on server browser , never happened before, sent 3 crash reports, was OK yesterday after steam update, ruling that out.
ill try connecting using steam servers
let me know if you have any luck. never had this sort of issue before. also sent reports.
Me too, since the steam update my game crashes everytime I click on server browser, so I can't play this game. Never had this or any problems before this steam update. I changed nothing, installed nothing new, I have exactly the same PC. And my other steam games work perfectly.

the game has to be running first.
Alt+tab or alt+enter out of game
Right click on steam icon in tray, click servers.
Bottom left click change filter, choose red Orchestra 2 from drop down list.
Right click , connect to server u want to join.

Start ro2, open console with ~ key
Type open and a space, ctrl+v to paste ip:port
hit enter.

there is a problem still when I connect to server, I am getting odd consistent lag, and my stat fps is always above 50, what is up here, any one else have this.
Your first method works for me unreal3, now I can join any servers. But when I play, I have big lags, it is impossible to play.
Same here... what the hell went wrong with this game? and still no answer from the dev team...

devs didn't make the steam update and this isn't their forum have you looked over there?
i got this from another game forum that's been having launching problems since the patch. you might try it.
"Had this problem with Red faction Guerilla, Space hulk, Wasteland 2 and Fallout New vegas all I did was disable my cloud saves for each of these games as it seemed to be in a synch loop, all the games I mentioned start right up. Might be a fluke on my part but stopped me from tearing my hair out!"
You might want to try disabling of the Steam Ingame overlay.

alt tabbing out and playing via steam server list is a pretty viable option but its still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that i have to work around it lol

Yes I tried your suggestion, but unfortunatly it doesn't work. I went to the TWI's forum but apparently nobody has the same problem. I tried the general support info tutorial on TWI's forum but again the problem was not solved. I unistalled and reinstalled the game this afternoon, but it changed nothing.
I sent the report to Tripwire and gave them my e-mail adress, maybe I'll find the answer to the problem.

Have tryed both, cloud synch, dlc content, overlay and in home streaming all disabled, no effect.
verify cache, etc
game still crashes on server browser.

the lag problem may be linked to high cpu usage, 100% on cpu 0, the rest high peaks on CPU 1 to 7, i beleve it was alot lower before problem started.
just wanted to make sure you guys tried this.

1) Navigate to your DOCUMENTS folder and find:
Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2
2) Delete that folder. (You might want to backup that folder just in case).
3) Restart the game.

sorry. i got nothing else.

I already tried that but nothing changed. But thank you for your proposition, you're until now the only person who try to help us (expected those who have this bug).
Still nothing on TWI's forum, and no response to my report.

I started a new topic on TWI's forum. As soon as a moderator will validate the publication of the topic, I'll put the link. ;)
