"Terminated" Message Game Crash?
I recently started playing RS on this account and have managed to enter a few servers no problem, but when I'm logging on to servers that I know have stricter rules (2fjgr), my game locks up and fails to respond. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

It's because of your VAC ban.

No you misunderstand me. I know what the terminated message is, I've received it before. Usually it'll cancel your load in and kick you to the lobby with the message "terminated", but lately it just straight up locks the game down.

I do occassionally get freezes on map change too.

no. you misunderstand. if you are playing on this account and not using family share, you will get terminated everytime. you have a vac ban and the servers detect it and boot you.

R5CYA that is incorrect, the VAC ban termination is set server side by each server admin. I've been able to play on a number of high-pop servers such as WaW's Rising Storm, it's all dependent on the server-side options.

The auto-kick was from a bug when the system was first released... now server admins can choose how lenient they want to be. And seeing as my ban was 2,400 days ago, most servers let me in no problem.

o.k. whatever you say. you're the first person who's come in here and said they could still find servers without it. how long do you say you've been playing? and on what servers?

I have 210 hours played in combination with RO2/RS, though I also have a family sharing account. I had been playing on the other account to bypass filters when the system was bugged, but now I've been able to join a number of populated campaign realism servers no problem. There are still the occassional servers with stricter policies, but I'm having a much easier time compared to when the system was first released.

It's quite a relief to be able to play on my level 80 as opposed to my level 20.

interesting. i wonder how many other people were able to play after the ban? all we see here are the ones having the problems. i'd cross my fingers that it's a temp. bug and you can play again and that it wasn't a bug that let you before.
as far as i know, there is only an on or off option for the vac. nothing in between.
what servers have you been playing on?

edit..... maybe you've been real lucky and finding servers that ignore one ban? a quote from Yoshiro. "We recently updated the games with a option requested from us by Server Admins. This option allows the server to detect if an account has Vac bans on record (and how many) and kick the player from the server. Similar options are in several other games on Steam (but are provided by the community). It is turned off by default and admins must choose to enable it (and it has options to ignore a set of bans on record if they choose, such as ignoring one or two bans."
