How to use the AT rifle?
The only thing in RO2 I can't figure out is how to be effective with this weapon. What are the best spots to hit the soviet t34(?) tank. When I hit the tracks it seems to work, because I get that ''bang'' sound...But I tried to hit the engine/ammo and it looks like It's not doing any damage.

Some help/tips will be appreciated ;)

Aiming points on the tanks vary. Range also has an effect on effectivness. On the T-34 I aim at the front road wheels/tracks when it's front is towards me, detrack it make it a 'bunker' and then manuever for the kill shot. Side shots I aim for the area between the 4th and 5th road wheel below the armor 'fender' the area the top of the track occupies. Rear is the lower slope below the acess panel. Also a good hit on the turret ring between hull and turret will kill gunner or TC and/or jam or disable traverse motor.

The same areas apply on the PzKw IV.

The trick is to get hits on 'flat' aspects of target armor, and slope will seriously decrease damage potential. Good tankers will 'present' angled armor to any threat areas.

The T-34 is harder to kill with the ATR than the PzKw IV. Sometimes it is better to track it rather than kill it as if you kill it it comes back pretty quick, where if it is a immobile 'bunker' it's effectivness wanes as the battle moves away. Sooner or later tanker will scuttle, but buying time is what you as the ATR gunner are tasked to do.

This guide is a great illustration of everything you need to know about the AT rifle: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=144224938

pretty much just gotta hit the ♥♥♥ or the rear sides, the guide will show you specific weak spots
but you will do nothing from the front or at a large angle

This is not 100% correct I can usally knock out the MG or the driver from the front.

I couldn't get the damn thing to work half of the time either, firing at the MGs and hatch windows directly and such. Over time I found that aiming at the rear or rear sides like someone else mentioned is the best approach. Just fire at the sort of box edge portion on the German ones, and... I can't remember on the Russian ones, but just fire at the back or the back near the tracks. Sometimes it's fun to shoot the treads too, if they are facing the wrong way or are behind something, if only to ♥♥♥♥ them off.

One cool thing to note is if a tank is climbing a hill and somehow has its undercarrage exposed, shoot that. The armor there is really thin.

From the front, the only thing to hit would be the tracks or, if you can make the shot, in the turret ring where the turret meets the hull. anywhere else, and it will simply be deflected. at 100 meters the 14.5X114mm round was able to penatrate around 40mm of steel. Best spot to aim for on the T-34/76 is from the side just above the wheels, in the center of the hull (just under the track cover but not the side hull itself) as its quite thin there (about 40mm I believe) and right in the middle is where 3 "ready" rounds were stored on each side for the loader. (The rest of the ammo was stored on the floor in ammo bins covered by a rubber mat).
