Multiplayer Issue

[Little Skatey]

Me and My friend are trying to get a Online co-op game going. When making the room I invite my friend and we both appear in the room. Unfortunatley it does not show the same thing on our screens. I am on Lara and he sees my name is in the middle. He is on Totec and and I see him in the middle. Obviously it does not let us continue since it says someone hasn't selected a character. Anyone have any help with this?
