Problem with Logitech Dual Action gamepad...
Can detect and play with nearly all controls, except whatever button i map AIM to, the character juggles their weapon in and out of holster as if the button is being rapid fired. No background emulation for gamepads or anything are running on my pc. All other controls remap and work fine, but never show up in the onscreen tutorials...even when mapped, they always say 'unassigned' and this makes learning the mechanics and even navigating menus very difficult.

Try to make time under Options control at the gamepad axes on the Z-axis and Z rotation, then you should walk with a stick and can aim with the other and shoot with the Shoot button.

not a good idea 2 use 3rd party controllers it only works with kbm or 360 controllers 100%

I hate that 360 controllers are "the standard" and some games list full controllers support when they really only have partial controller support meaning 360 controllers only. This game only lists it as partial so at least they're being honest.

For those of us who hate the xbox gamepad shape and layout it's super frustrating.
The PS2 style controllers like the Logitech Dual Action (which I have and won't work at all with this game and many other games) is perfect for my hands, while the xbox style hurts my hands and wrists to use for more than a minute or two. Plus Logitech makes quality products, a brand I trust the hardware to work.

Not that I expect a patch to make this game to work with directinput controllers.

Found this in another Steam forum, and it does indeed work:

1. Download the Xbox 360 Controller Emulator(get the latest emulator, not just the xInput library. The current one as of this time of writing is called x360ce.App-2.0.2.102.zip)
2. Extract x360ce.exe to the same folder as the GoL executable - i.e. YOUR_STEAM_FOLDER\steamapps\common\lara croft and the guardian of light
3. Run x360ce.exe
4. Allow it to create the necessary files (xinput1_3.dll, x360ce.ini)
5. Use the GUI to bind your controller to Xbox mappings. There are presets for certain controllers at thebottom.
6. Save the config and quit x360ce.exe
7. Very important: Duplicate xinput1_3.dll and call it xinput9_1_0.dll. Do not delete xinput1_3.dll! 8. Launch the game
8. Play game!

(or)

1. Copy working files from another game (xinput1_3.dll, x360ce.ini)
2. Duplicate xinput1_3.dll and rename it xinput9_1_0.dll
3. Play game!
