freezes every ~5 Seconds
I played the Demo today and the game freezed every 5 seconds for 1 second. Is this only in Demo Version? / How can I fix this?

If you don't have a nice rig i'd say it's like normal. Did the game was smooth otherwise ? Mini Ninjas is a bit bad optimized and requires so much for what it is.

It may be either your mouse or keyboard, I get the 5 second freeze too until I unplug my mouse. Probably never see a patch for it, so if you still want the game, I'd hold out for a sale. That's what I'm doing. :)

I play with a xbox Gamepad. Could this be the problem?

That's probably it, I have a couple friends who had that disappear once they unplugged theirs. Worth a try. :)

i have the same problem in the full version. is there way to fix the problem. i have tried to unplug mouse, keyboard and 360 pad but it does not work. i have also tried to play in compatibly mode or changed the videomode. nothing helps. maybe a problem with AMD GPU or driver?

okay okay i´m sorry. Now i have unplugged both, mouse and keyboard and it works.
With the 360 wireless gamepad its no problem. but it does not work when mouse and keyboard are pluggd in.

Bug has been ingame since day one. They didn't bother to fix it ever since. I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone.

Unplugging mouse and keyboard simply isn't an option. I'd have to crawl under my desk everytime. I do have most of my controllers plugged in were I can easily remove them, but keyboard and mouse are essential and thus they're plugged in directly at the mainboard.

This micro-lag bug makes this game unplayable.

Well, there's a first for everything, never opened up a steam ticket in all the years I've used it to reqeust a return. Eidos should be proud to know that I was willing to go to this much trouble over even just four bucks because it really ♥♥♥♥es me off they could leave a game in this unplayable state. And nice job valve posting up a game that is clearly bugged.

Follow up: I took a look in the device manager for unused HID devices to disable just on the assumption that perhaps if those were turned off (since they were not hooked up to my mouse or keyboard) it might be possible the silly game was polling them and through poor design causing the lag, turns out that was indeed the case.

Turned off three HID devices not being used and viola, micro stutter gone.

That also solved the micro stutter in Kane & Lynch Dead Men, but it's still stupid. It disables most if not all special features / buttons your mouse or keyboard might have and you'd have to manually turn it on and off again everytime.

This is also quite an old fix (sorry for not mentioning it, I thought this was rather common knowledge). But because it is old, it is even more inconceiveable why the developer hasn't yet patched this. They know the source of the problem, they can reproduce the bug, yet still...

There's no doubt the dev and/or publisher should have patched this long ago.

As for this being an old fix, I was aware of that, most of the solutions tee'd up though were descriptions that appeared to incorrectly suggest diabling all HID devices was necessary, which is the point of my post, that's not in fact the case. If it were, it would be no solution at all for anyone (which is most ppl these days) using USB connected mice and keyboards.

I was under the impression that when actually disabling all of them, neither mouse nor keyboard would function anymore. Oh...I guess since the game can be played with a gamepad, this was taken into account, wasn't it? ^^

When I tried that method the last time - I mean it is more or less trial and error - I disabled my mouse first. It was a bit tricky to reenable it using just the keyboard. :D
