What Is This A Sequel To

So as a kid I remember playing a game exactly like this, I mean it was identical to this one only with graphics back from the 90's I bought this because when I saw it at first I thought it was the same game only to be disappointed by the fact it's either a sequel or a reboot, I can't for the life of me remember what the other one was called though but I absolutely loved it. I was just wondering if anybody out there knows what the name of the original game is.

Raptor is a well known game and had great graphics for the time being.
In that time, most of my friends that had a pc knew about this game... guess it was really famous :)
