Project Freedom
How about a mod?
Anyone interested in trying a mod? I made one a couple of years ago for computer science class. It is a survival mod with a ridiculously long intro (that can be turned off). It's lacking a bit of polish, but plenty playable, and features achievements, random wave generation, and in-level upgrades (not menu based, but stage based, and you get energy/weapon restores at random in between waves). The only thing with it is it's harder to launch on the Steam version, because the last time I tried it the game would not receive command line arguments. But I can work around that. Anyone interested?

Update: I've bundled and uploaded the mod. This is the original version + training menu override for launching. There are two versions: one with the intro (which is around 10 mins long), and one without.

With intro: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9sy14q1dcw0rcag/gm-survival.dpk?dl=0
Without intro: https://www.dropbox.com/s/65m5lnnl5btntcz/gm-survival_introskipped.dpk?dl=0

Download the one you want, and rename the file to "data_a.dpk". Drop it into your Project Freedom installation folder, in the same one that contains "data.dpk". Open up Project Freedom, select Training, and click Start Mission.

The preview screenshot is just a placeholder. There are no container ships in this mod (because they require scripting in a proprietary format). I'll update the preview shot in the next release.

It sounds interesting! But I think there's few people actually playing this game
The can be launched from the command line on the retail version, but for whatever reason it doesn't go through on the Steam version. I'll see if I can get it to work by swapping out the training level for the mod.

Update: it does work on retail. I'll see if I can package it up.

Do you see the summary for the mod when you click on the Training button? If you do, just start the mission. Otherwise, check the mod DPK is in the actual game folder ("\steamapps\common\project freedom" in Steam).
kool im going to check this out, any specific .dpk extracter you used? i cant wait to make this hd
I made my own. There are scripts on Xentax for QuickBMS if you need it. Anyway, if you don't want to search that up, here's a link to my noobish AutoIt script for it check this post for an updated packer/unpacker.

I've got my random Project Freedom files in a folder: {ССЫЛКА УДАЛЕНА}

Note unpacking the mod's DPK might not help you much if you're making a new level. Older versions were compiled, and I don't remember if the new distribution is compiled or not.

Hola.

I've downloaded the UnDPK file and i've extracted the data.dpk file for make some tests... now how can i made 1 new? :|

Regards!
If you`re testing something, just rename the DPK so the game won`t find it, and run off of the extracted files. I have a packer somewhere, but I need to clean it up.
The game don't start if i rename the data.dpk just try to make an spanish translation :)
Make sure the folder "data" and "actions.accfg" are in the same directory as the game's EXE.
mmmm don't work.

I put the data folder and the actions.accfg in the projectfreedom.exe folder and the game crash with a message: "Project Freedom critical error: Critical Error! Game data not compatible!"

EDIT: Now i see my fault... data\data\ folder :) now work, thanks
