Crashes when using fireball

Am getting a crash almost every time I have the fireball power. Will let me shoot the fireball but when it gets to the bottom of the screen the game quits back out to Steam window. Have tried to get through these levels with different video settings but it keeps happening,

Anybody got any ideas?

This also happens in Peggle Nights ho0wever with that I am at least blessed with an error box:

I have this same problem. Has anyone ever figured out what causes it? As stated above it happens in both games.

I never found out what did it but it stopped happening after I started using a separate graphics card. I an only assume that the integrated graphics on my i5 and Peggle didn't like each other for some reason.
