DEV Questions Server Rentals?

Ive seen this topic brought up a couple time without a a response from the Devs.


Will there be server rentals available Day 1 EA? I want one ;)

Who will be offering said servers? I want to browse my choices.

How much will a private server cost? Everyone likes a good deal


Any insight from a Dev would be tremendously helpful

ive been in contact with a few server providers, So far FastPointGaming, SurvivalServers and Multiplay have all confirmed they will be hosting servers come 2nd June (or earliest they can get the files anyway) None can say how much they will cost as its up to the server providers. I have been guessing they will be approx same cost as rust but could be more or less.

Devs have stated already I believe that we will be able to rent servers, but its up to individual server providers to decide pretty much all of what you asked. Except the Day 1 question coz thats dependant on when the server files are released,

We are not going to be providing copies of the server executable and stuff before June 2 to any server hosting companies.

On/After June 2, they will be welcome to contact us about getting copies, but we wont be sending them out early.

After that point, anyone will be free to host anywhere they want.

So what you are saying is there is a high chance that on EA launch day there will only be official servers?

day one EA you will get a dedicated Sever EXE so there will be private servers. Mine will be up day one

We'll be hosting on day one at SurvivalServers.com on our custom control panel that will be developed specifically for ARK. We'll be pulling a few all nighters right at launch (and thusly delaying our ability to play this game hehe) to make it the best control panel / hosting experience. =)

IDK about you guys but I've a a good group of friends together and we are just gonna start learning the game on our own local server, so we don't have to worry about trolls and so we can just have fun.
