Do people sound good in the game??
Is it high quality like TS3? Or a kin to Xbox Live, Or other "Voice Chat"

Also will chatting with players be anonymous? Like does your name show up on the other players screen?
I believe that this was initially planned to not be anonymous, I say this due to Lirik bringing up a stream friendly UI and he mentioned having a way to cover up names when people were using voice chat. So from that, I would assume no, but I wouldn't be surprised if that could be configured by the server if not now, then later on.

Well, I see. But I'd really love an answer to the VOIP codec quality.

You won't be anonymous in the game anyways because every character is unique so they can remember your model.

Hmm interesting point.

Please more opinions? Or information?

It's pretty good sound quality from my experience. Though of course the only way you can really rate it is if you judge for yourself. I understand other survivors very clearly when I talk to them via the in game comms though. Keep in mind it's proximity based ;)

Is it proximity based in a way where voices fade on distance or just cuts off?

It'll fade based on distance.

So if it fades with distance, would walkie talkies be a thing? Radios?
Zcythe May 21, 2015 @ 3:27pm
You should also add enviromental effects like if your in a cave, it echoes as such, or if your in a building you can only hear muffled voices. THAT would be amazing.

Radios are cool.

This is a great question!! In ROK the voice is so bad because it seems to be based also on the way you are facing and if you are not directly infront of them you cant hear anything!
