Alright Devs... how scary is it REALLY during night?
I remember one of you saying how scary it was... but is it really that bad? Does it almost feel like some kind of horror game when out at night? Are there creepy sounds you can hear nearby and in the distance from within that pitch black darkness?

Do you recommend holing up for the most part if you are alone, and wait until morning? XD

Edit: Will animals be attracted at all to light during the night? At the very least, made aware of it?

I really want to hear why it's so scary during the night from some of the developers. Is it just the lack of vision? Noises being made? Nocturnal creatures that love to hunt you? A fear that your feeble thatched structure won't keep out whatever may be on the other side? XD

Bump for scares and great justice.

Get ready to soil yourself in the caves at night as you hear thingd stalk you in the darkness...

Imagine being outside your base and you can't get back before nightfall because you found some awesome loot. You run through some forests and suddenly you get caught in a spider web. Moments later you hear those creepy crawlies closing in.... (I don't know how it's really going to be but this is what I immediately thought when I read OP).

The Devs have said its not the creatures you can hear at night you should worry about its the quite one's you should worry about finding you...

Jungle is extremely scary at night, it's nearly pitch black and it's all about the audio (unless you use a torch which has very limited range and can give away your position to enemy players and creatures). Just last night in playtest I ran off a small cliff within the jungle as I was running away from a herd of Dilophosaurus that had blinded me with venom, and broke my legs (injured state)... trying to crawl away out of the jungle I slowly dehydrated and died ... it's a tough life out there!

Good to hear :)
I love that you have to fear the dark and can't do like you want at that time

You guys mention jungles but what about caves!? Can you go in there without a torch? I'm kinda hoping caves will also be pitch black during the day.
