Pitch black nights?
Just wondering if the devs could tell me whether or not there will be pitch black nights? I personally prefer them for my sheisty gorilla warfare. But most people don't so i'd understand if they were just pretty dark.

For some reason people hate dark night times. H1Z1 made their nights lighter because people were logging off in droves during night time. I run a Rust server and I get requests to make it daylight when night falls. Personally, I like dark nights, adds to the ambiance of the game. I would like an option for server admins to choose between lighter night or dark night (no Batman puns intended).

There is where custom servers of longer night will come into play. On;y thing I'm worried about is the temperature issues that this can cause. From all the devs have been emphasizing in the game temperature is a killer.

Can you craft Nightvision?

As long as they balance "lighting" implements such as Campfires, Torches, Flashlights etc to actually be pretty decent, then Darker nights won't matter so much. Not a direct comparison, but Darker Night mods for games like Skyrim and Fallout are very popular. It all comes down to balancing, with custom servers allowed and available especially with modding, the devs will set there servers to how they want it, if people arnt happy, custom servers are the go.

Me Personally, I hope the Nights are Dark, it adds balance to it, when H1Z1 had its really dark nights pre "buffing light" and pre night vision, I used to use the time In base to craft stuff, make sure food and water were done yada yada, went through battle plans and stuff but that was more due to the fact the Flashlight was pretty ♥♥♥♥, torches wernt much better and with you being able to only have 3 items equipped, you effectively gimped yourself doing so lol.

I have faith in Wildcard to balance it just right and have the "tools" inplace :D

If they have black nights, they need to find a way to keep people(like me :P) from cheating by turning up their monitors brightness setting.

I would like dark nights and I would like them to be absolutely deadly. Think about how terrifying Dying Light is at night, even Minecraft is scary at night. This is a freaking dinosaur game with big killer cats and other nasty creatures that hunt at night and I think it should be a terrifying but rewarding experience to be able to survive outside at night.

Nights are not pitch black
They are, however, dark.

and full of terrors.

no they are obviously referring to the fact that dodos turn into giant firebreathing monsters at night
