harrassment and threats for warning new players that our server is highly congested

hello all apparently I have been reported and am being monitored for warning new players that our server PVE 374 is heavily congested and suffered from periods of extreme lag and undergoes server hours a day in which their are no dino spawns or reduced dino spawns, and according the person who responded to this report which i am submitting a screenshot of it as proof as well, this is supposedly a violation of the rules and not allowed, how do you guys feel about this? and here is the screenshot for you all to witness it

there is the screenshot from the devs warning that my behaviour is inappropriate, I have been gaming and I have been both a paid tester and an unpaid tester for multiple games since 1996 I know my behaviour was perfectly proper and I do not appreciate constantly having to deal with threats of this type against my persona and my reputation both as a player and a tester

but i know that if our server has hardcore performance problems I am TOTALLY within my right to suggest to new players to try a different server

Well for one it's not "your server", it's a server you play on. You don't pay any type of monthly fee, it's something provided free to you. If you are not happy with the service that is provided, then either host your own or choose to pay a better host to provide something you can truely call "yours".

you're kinda missing the point. pretty sure OP meant *his* server as in the one *he* plays on.

telling other people how bad the server is isn't "being unhappy with the service provided" imo. i see no issue with warning others so they don't have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game experience because that server happens to be congested and has bad lag. i personally would appreciate the heads up no matter what, and i'm sure others would too.

To be honest I've never seen 1 official server have decent performance but that's just me and maybe I'm too picky. Ark Server is a beast and takes alot of ghz horsepower to run decent and very fast disk if you don't want save lag all day long.

I would suggest just looking for a better server because I doubt you get watched or banned for playing on an unofficial one.

One side of the story needs to be taken as that. We have no idea what the OP said to new players joining WC server, and it IS WC's server.

From reviewing the server data and some of the comments made, it is an active server, but definitely not an overpopulated one. Its up to WC acting on the reports they have received from players trying to join this server, and them reviewing what was said to new players logging on.

He could be saying: "hey, new guy just a heads up we are very congested, don't join" or " hey we are a solid community here and we don't like outsiders, fair warning that you wont like playing on this server". Either one are fair to say, but continuously messaging either to a new player would be harassment.

Maybe instead of taking the OP at their word, a few of us should visit this server ourselves and see what kind of welcome we receive. It is an official server so there is nothing stopping any of us from joining whenever we want to.

I'll have a few of my tribesmen check it out since posting my intent here gives the OP a reason to treat me differently if I chose to join WC's server.



the OP taking A Dev's comment as a Threat against his persona/reputation is a bit on the unreal side, since no one would know them from Adam/Eve and indicates they are a bit full of themselves.

and FYI OP- What rights to you think you have in a video game? You have no authority or rights here.

What I read in the OP and what I read in the screenie don't match.

The GM said "We don't like harrassment on our servers, no, we won't say what's going to happen and thank you for reporting."

Where's the harrassment you recieved? Where's the warning you recieved?

Not to mention you have no idea (1) whether the copy-paste was legit or made up, or (2) what the player actually reported you for.

I believe he is leaving out a big chunk of the reason for that gm showing up. Just like sista said it doesn't fit.

I recomend you find a new server. The one you are playing on clearly has issues, and if your reports of the staffing being a tad pretentious then you really should find a server that is more accepting of your play style and your player interaction style.

the server i am playing on is official pve 374 I am the main breeder on that server and i Have over 6000 hours invested in breeding on that server, I am not gonna start over on a new server just because someone wants to attempt to threaten me for doing what is perfectly in my right to do. and as far what line I tell new players its always exactly the same:

this server is overcrowded, we have extremely bad lag problems, and we have long periods of times where the dino spawns are greatly reduced especially on weekends, if you are just starting out I recommend you find a different server to play on. period. that is what I say to each and every new player arriving on our server

and as far as my reputation as a gamer/player/tester goes? yes I value my reputation, I have tested games for a great many studios and I dont appreciate people trying to say I run around breaking rules and harrassing people over and over when this couldnt be further from the truth. unfortunately at this time Ark is still a game that is in the earliest of stages and does not have a dedicated admin team on their official servers as of yet, if it did I am quite confident that I would never have had the need to bring this to the public forums as it would have been dealt with long ago with the countless screenshots and reports I have filed involving real harrassment and bullying and griefing.

Firstly, GM's don't investigate harrassment claims without there being just cause in the first place - and it's usually accompanied with evidence so it's a lot more than what you're saying - if YOU were even the player being investigated and I'm betting the dev response was an answer to YOUR question.

Secondly, your screenie has no threat or harrasment in it. GM said they were investigating harrassment. They would not discuss YOU in a global either. They would have spoken to you directly and/or banned you.

I'm guessing we have a "if the shoe fits, wear it" guilt trip happening here. You've put your hand up as the guilty party in this thread. Why would you need to do that?
