It's like World in Conflict. Non-base building RTS with reinforcements points that you spend on abilities / units.
Its kind of a mess i wouldn't recomend it

Yeah it's very World in Conflict...if anything think of it like a World in Conflict WWII mod...

Actually IT IS WORLD IN CONFLICT just WW2 style. Why? Well if you listen to the units talk when you select them they are EXACTLY the same responses you would hear in WIC like if you select an armour unit he'll say 'What the hecks goin on outside?' The only real difference is the era, the squad-based armour units, lack of good characters, and the fact it crashes after like every mission but its damn good gameplay.

Recently I played again several real time tactics games (no or little base building, resource gathering) , like Blitzkrieg II, World In Conflict, Company of Heroes, Rush For Berlin. In all this games, the scale is rather small (few squads) and the gameplay is either relying on careful recon (Blitzkrieg) or units spamming (WIC, COH). In all these games units die so quickly there is no chance to retreat/redeploy. IMO these mechanics (very short units view range and life) are fun but I feel like it removes some depth and hides the poor quality of AI.

Order Of War is very different IMO. There is no fog of war (the AI is strong and does not cheat), the scale is large with dozens of tanks, ATC, hundreds of soldiers at the same time, and the game focuses on manoeuvring (like a total war WWII). If you play on easy level it is sometimes enough to rush all your units to win the first missions, but in normal or hard difficulty level, the game really forces you to use believable manoeuvring. No fog of war means you see the whole picture instead of defeating the enemy chunk by chunk and therefore you can make tactical plans which really give hugely different result. Achieving "excellent" result against hard AI is very challenging, and AI is very challenging too in skirmish mode. It is possible to replay campaign missions and each time try a very different plan to improve skills.

I found this video showing tactical possibilities of Order Of War. I do not know for you but for me there is no real time tactics game easy to play and at the same time offering this kind of gameplay.

IMO this game was badly underrated, maybe because many players think easy to play equals no depth or players were tired of WWII games. Too bad they removed OOW Challenge I wanted to try the different multiplayer modes (specially with no reinforcement).

How are the missions, gameplay and presentation compared to World in Conflict?
I don't care for multiplayer or skirmish matches.

I loved WiC, so will I like this one (the demo files seem to be broken)?

I find it to be kind of old-school compared to World in Conflict (Played Order of War before I ever got into World in Conflict). But I also believe it is one of those hidden gems most people would overlook. The missions are your classic play-to-unlock-units but you also get to upgrade units. When you play today you can easily feel how it is a old game, but it don't ruin the experience. Juls33 mentions the fog of war, but you can turn that on. (Might just be multiplayer tho?)

Anyway, 10/10 would play again, put it down then wait 3 years before taking it up again.

its fun, i love it, i put it up wiht my top games for RTS, next ot company of heroes and WIC, but gameplay, think of it as chess, you have a lot of room to move with huge armies moving but micromanaging is never an issue
If this is one of your top games I'd hate to see your bottom games.

More like Sudden strike, it has no depth in combat, but its nice.

Its not even close to World in conflict, that game is a true gem..not this one.
