How?! What Do I Do!? -.-
So, I've been trying to play this game now for about 2 weeks.

I've tried compatibility settings, I've disabled visual themes and desktop composition, I've also verified the game cache in Steam.

And still it just crashes... I don't even get dialog about what the error is that's not allowing it to start.

Anyone got a work around?

What videocard you have? Btw, have you tried the beta patch (select 'beta' in Steam game properties)?

I have Nvidia GeForce 460 GTX Hawk Overclocked.
And I haven't tried that.
I will try now.

Okay, so, I restarted Steam and that seemed to make the game work bizarrely.
However, new problem. The menu is visible, however, all background and ingame graphics are not. All I have is a black screen with icons where my men are

*Note*, I also did as you said about the beta patch.

Try this:

If you need anti-aliasing, you can turn it for this application from nVidia control panel later.
