Total war: World War II
I think there should be a Total War: World War II because I thought about it and it could be possible. While having to make a whole new type of unit (aircraft). But if they sell this they could make a lot of money. It would be hard, however, to get the ground units not to fight in the same position. They could do a new type of programming so that units scatter around the map. The plane units should be small and they should scatter too. If you have bombers you should be able to target a piece of land and give bombing support. The project would take years however, because of the immense amount of new gameplay added compared to other total war games. But with a little effort it could come true.

Sorry, I forgot to add they would need to add tanks too, and other motorized vehicles.

Well i think before they do WW2 there must be Medieval III coz that was one of the best in this series. And before new Medieval there must be SHOGUN! First game in this great series that is also the best which is currently unplayable on Win7 & 8.
SEGA you just can't sell Grand Master Collection for 140€ without first and the best game in series.

I think is better than wwII a total war about wwI

@Ivan I knew someone would say something like that, but in this thread im not saying the next thing they should make is a WWII game. I'm saying when they have nothing to do.

@Caesar 99 Nah, WWII would have much more features, like a larger campaign map, more unit types, etc. A WWI game could come later.

i would be more excited about shogun 3

Current engine wont allow it. To difficult. WW1 game would be most like made over a ww2. Not to mention WW2 wont fit the unique total war battles.

Technically there is a Total War WW2 game. It s called Theatre of war,but still I know what you mean.

Theatre of War has nothing in common with Total War, except that it's RTS too.

Maybe if they slowly took steps from each new game to it being a bit different from the rest, and eventually adopt a new engine, and then they could make Total War WWII, and it will seem the same as the recent one.

Actually, there are still a number of bugs in Shogun 2 FOTS. It's still a great work though. However, this means that The Creative Assembly is not likely to succeed when working on a even tougher project, such as WW2. Also, if The Creative Assembly can make WW2 successfully, then why not work on a modern war game? Just assume a war break out right now on the earth. It would be much more interesting to use modern weapons than to use those of 70 years ago while the difficulty of programming modern weapons or vehicles is not harder than programming those of 70 years ago.

I will be more interested in Shogun 3. I wish The Creative Assembly could work more on bug fix, especially in siege battle. And, don't put mechanisms like occupation resistence, which should not exist in Japanese civil war.

@xky the reason it couldnt be modern is because it would be WAY too hard, even harder than a WW2 game because of the lightning fast planes, major explosions, high tech explosives, etc

If you wan't to play WW2 battles try the Theatre of War series, for WW2 grand strategy Hearts of Iron 3 would be very good. For modern battles check out the Wargame series. It's pretty good and plays quite realistically.

I'm not saying I want one, I'm just saying it's possible eventually.

You have yet to play any TW game yet came here to express your opinion about the possible subject matter of a future TW title. Hmmm.

Then follow that up with some broad uninformed generalization about WW1 vs WW2. Sensing a pattern.

You use an offensisve name to post with and belong to an even more offensive steam group.

Definitely a pattern. You've sufficiently self-identified so that no one will be left wondering whether to ever pay attention to you. And for that I thank you.
