This is the culprit for my verson of Shogun2 crashing/hanging at start,first splash screen that apears.After contacting sega support and doing all sorts of tests and sent them three files they found out the cause its this - lavasofttcpservice.dll -This file now needs to be removed my PC before my shogun2 will work,seems also this isnt straight forwards either as im finding out,if anyone can help me get rid of this,ive also told Sega could they "put a fix out there"for those of us that cant remove this file.At leastw e know know what it is thats causing so many peoples version of shogun2 to stop working,Webadvisor from lavasoft.

Also it stopped my new version of Attila from working too which is recently purchased in sale ,thank god at time of writing Warhammer is fine ;).Ive known people to reformatt their PC because of this file which webadvisor leaves behind when you uninstall it which i did the minute i realised it had installed itself on my pc when i was doing something else.

Well in my case its definatley this,and its now embedded itself,after a freind found it for me!,in another ASUS file that we are now trying to remove,seems it doesnt want to come out so easily either!...This is not for the fainthearted^^(regarding you mentioning it before,im sorry i missed this because i got so fed up last year with this "issue"that i TOTALly deleted Shogun2,and left it like that for a good 9months.Anyways feel relived to now know,however feel somewhat bitterwseet as the @@@doesnt want to come out!

if it wont uninstall try use tool as ccleaner or iobit uninstaller or contact lavasoft support sometimes they have a special app uninstaller

thanks iciera might have to contact them,just used that 10bit deep uninstaller,it says it removed them but i still 0.0 them!!! they sure dont want to go.Now just used some ADWCleaner and now ic ant find them??Re-installing Shogun2....oh man do i hope thisl work now....brb

tbh cant belive Advanced systemcare and 10bit Deep uninstall didnt remove them(there are x2 .dll files there - lavasoftTcpService.dll and lavasoftTcpService64.dll

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/----GO HERE IF YOUR SHOGUN CRASHES AT START!?...install this and Run.This will Remove those pesky "Hard to remove".dll files reboot and your away and RDY to Play,like me after no less than 12 months!.This is the only third party program you need and is the ONLY one that worked for me.Belive me in last 12 months i tried them ALL!.

did clean with that and that got RID of those x2 and some others...hope i havnt uninstalled stuff i need lol...oh well i dont really care as long as nothings broken and those x2 are gone?...Shogun almost finished DL

Iciera,after just doing a quick check whilst im waiting for install,just checked C: and again the x2 are there but now with a golden padlock on them both!!?can you help me with Lavasoft support mate,think no point in continuing with installation they look like they still there to me mate....heh,thought i finally found a program that actually gets rid...Now i know what it is im not giving up,and im gonna target them both untill theyve gone.

Yeehaa!im actually "InGame" hahaha after almost 15 MONTHS!!...strange one of those three apps still shows those two files but when go to delete says cant read them the other two 10bit and advsytem care cant even see them anymore.but C:drive does seems they NO Longer stop my shogun2 from working!!hahah,when that splash screen suddenly changed and the Shogun warrior apeared it kind of shocked me!!haha was NOT expecting that too work...OFF to reinstall the rest of the DLC that ive Never played!!!..gonna post this about too..hope others finally get rid...got to find the files first mind...which is easy enough.Once you know what they are called.^^Phew @last!..Thankjs Iciera too..and TY -http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/ -"The time has come for a new Warlord to become Shogun!"

hmm maybe this was the good old reboot issue that kick in so registration database is reloaded
sorry but this is just again one of those things IT-people learn along the way and dont think about. after several tools keep locate it

but anyway problem total gone now, as i understand it.

ah,im worried to turn it off again now mate,in case it suddenly re-apears as i cant remember if i rebooted it?i wanted too i know that lol...hmmm..ok im going to reboot nnow,(it was rebooted before the last of those three programs did their search..brb

I'm not familiar with that software from bleepingcomputer.com - not sure I would trust it, but glad you got it to work.

Really?it came seriously reccomended i can assure you of that,and also after more than a year this is the only one thats gone and fixed it,as its the only one that can and WILL remove the x2 Lavasoft.dll files that Do NOT want to be removed!?..you keep trying the other software that says it works when it doesnt,i didnt come here today to waste any more time of this crap so if i was you id read again what we put up here today,and IF that sounds like its same as yours id seriously suggest you copy us exactly as we did it.And then youll be playing Shogun2 again like i have been all day since it started working again.

That's fine, I don't have any problems playing Shogun. I'm just trying to help out the people who are not able to get it to work.
