Runs like crap on my PC (unlike Transformed)
I'm reading it has issues with AMD, which would explain why no matter how low the settings are, it runs awful on my PC. What a shame :( Because it's a really good racer, worth playing even if you own Transformed... but this PC port is just terrible.

I run AMD as well and it works fine for me. I don't know how to help you here outside of an integrity check in your Steam account on that game. I'm sorry I couldn't be a bigger help but it isn't the game based on programming errors on that game.

Try disabling triple buffering in the drivers. The game is actually running at 60fps but it feels like 15fps with it on, odd bug. Once disabled It plays fine for me. Well after I downgrade my sound blaster Z Audio to 16bit 48khz to get past the intial crashing on launch :(

Thanks for the help, guys, but sadly that didn't work :( For some reason it just runs really bad on my PC. I'll just stick with Transformed and the console version of this, I guess. So glad I bought it during a sale :/

Yeah, that and lowering the bits needed per pixal from 32 to 16 at least works for me. I honestly, for the life of me, don't understand the mad desire for 32bit as the colors - in fact the human eye - could only actually see less than 16 bit worth of colors and I would much rather use the needed processing power for making the extra 32 bits toward something else.

The human eye can see way more then 65k colors really what the heck gave you that idea, humans can see nearly 10million colors! Check here

Anyway nothing has been optimized for 16bit color since the voodoo 2/3 days.

You would not want to run a modern game in 16bit color even if it allowed you to unless it was made specifically to support it. Dithering and banding on many gradients like skys solid scaling colors etc, is what you would see, and it would not be pretty!
A games textures have to be optimized in photoshop\paintshop before they get used in a game that is using a small 8/15/16 bit color palette.

I was talking about the weird problem with this game being unable to accept its music\sounds being upscaled to 24bit modes, on vista\7\8. It crashes if any sound mode over 16bit-48000hz is used.

I take it back, I was only off by a factor of a 1000 percent. I'm really tired due to having a toddler and all but honestly I don't really notice that big of a difference. Honestly, I would rather have the game run better than look nicer.

It wouldn't run better, modern gpu drivers just don't optimize for 16bit color, infact most stuff runs slower in 16bit then 32bit. Sorry, it doesn't make sense, but its mostly true except in weird situations on junk hardware mostly intel stuff.

It sorta does. For instance, I am running an AMD 64x processor but some programs will only run with 32x. Well, this is actually slower on 64x processor as they computer itself requires to emulate the 32x instead of flat out running it on the norm'.

@Bud: No, you got that wrong. Modern 64 bit processors from Intel and ALL from AMD are true 32 bit processors which also have a 64 bit mode. There is no performance penalty. 64 bit is a bot faster sometimes, but that's because of the optimizations that are active in 64 bit.

That could be, I was just getting my information from technical people who tend to overcomplicate things. If I was wrong, I am sorry.

i only have this problem when the race starts but right when it says GO! then the game runs a smooth 60 :P its weird but it still works fine :)

running great on mine

My laptop runs it fine, I play on a 2008 Toshiba Satellite factory model (nothing special or changed), as i've said on other posts before i'm not tech-savvy but i run Gamebooster3 as well while playing my games and .... well I play this game with no issues- at the beginning the first opening scene had some chopping in the sound but... that's kind of to be expected with my computer. the gaming part of the game and all scenes since then however, run perfectly.
dude awesome Jul 24, 2013 @ 1:15am
