Predestination

Multi-Race Empires?
Hey guys, I'm a Kickstarter backer but I've been away for a while.

One thing I've really enjoyed in other 4X games (notably Space Empires) is conquering a race with a different planetary environment, and then using them to colonize planets with that environment (which would be suboptimal for my main race).

Is that possible in Predestination? Can I specify which race I'm using to colonize?

Hey Isaiah_Paul,

Apologies for the delay getting back to this! It is possible to conquer an enemy planet in Predestination, and in that event the citizens of that planet will be the conquered race and will have all of their stats etc. It's not currently possible to use that race to colonise other planets as your Colony Ships always contain your own race, but this shouldn't be too difficult to implement.

We've been considering changing Colony Ships to make them cost 2,000 population to build on top of the usual cost, or make it so you have to load 2,000 population from a planet before using them. If we do that, it would be relatively easy to let you load population from a conquered planet and use them to colonise another world. We would want to make it more obvious what race lives on each planet before doing this, possibly by putting an image on the Stats panel in the Planet Screen.

This is definitely something I want to do if we get the spare dev time for it, so it'll hopefully fall into one of the iterations before launch.

Cheers,
