How do I change weapons?

OK, I have two weapons and cannot change btw them. Use of mousewheel and of 1 and 2 keys show the two weapons at top of the HUD but does not change active weapon. 'Q' (last weapon) does let me switch btw these two, but when I have more than two weapons, this will not work. Help!
