Arma 2

Arma 2

What a mess
I think I'll pass on buying Arma 3. When I first purchased the Steam bundle over Christmas, Steam had piled the DLC on as seperate installs, instead of what it usually does for DLC. Well needless to say, the game wouldn't recognize either the main Arma 2 install or the OA one, making it impossible for me to actually play CO.

So I just uninstalled everything, down to the registry, and figured I'd try again later. I noticed a bunch of people were having the same issue, so I figured BI would fix this. Still the problem persists. I'm trying the work-arounds now. I wanted to post in the Arma 3 forum since the devs abandon their past licenses soon as they get a new cash cow. But you have to buy Arma 3 in order to do so. My question was going to be if Arma 3 is as much of a mess on Steam as Arma 2 is.

Steam support is also horrible, at least BI gives you work arounds, but they need to just properly patch their game or rip Steam a new one to fix the issue on their end.

So anyways, before I buy Arma 3. Does the problem exist with 3 as well or is it just unique to 2? Because their asking price for 3 is too steep for me to want to mess around with install orders, registry changes, path changes, and library changes.
