Do you need the DLC's to play DayZ?

I bought Arma 2 CO and i though i could play DayZ (as it said on the Store Page) but when i try to join a DayZ server i am unable to, it sais i do not have the right "version".

You only need Arma 2 Combined Operations.

It saying "Wrong version" refers to the version of Dayz, not Arma/Oa etc. The server will have the version being used listed next to it, if its a red X, or red writing your version differs from the servers and you can't join.

Ok thanks but is it normal that [/b]ALL[/b] Servers are not the right version?

It can be, it updates a lot and the server owners dont update it.
My suggestion would be get Dayz Commander, you can filter the servers that wont work, and update your versions.
Your install has to be Battleye up to date, Arma 2 same version and Dayz same version as Server so it is looking for 3 things.
In the Arma Server browser the version will be red on the bottom right listing if it is not current.

If you just installed chances are you need some updates.

thanks man! and i sough on this video of ImAnderZEL that u need to download a patch from this site is that true?

i just downloaded the patch from the site and it still tells me that i do not have the right version

The versions just have too match, regardless of how old or whatever, you can download 7.4.4 andther server can be running 7.4.2, or whatever. best bet is too grab Dayz Commander, and filter server by incorrect server, pick a server with decent ping and play on it, as your character will be saved too that server, if you go too a different one you start fresh spawned, unless its same hive.

yeah i though of that too cause i downloaded a "patch" and it didnt fix anything it just messed up my Arma 2 multiplayer... and i found it at http://www.dayzcommander.com/ and was also woundering if it was this that u were talking about...

Dayz is safe too download, and that is exactly what i was talking about. use that, it makes playing, managing servers and friends way easier.
