Uplay deleted my license
Okay, so I bought this game like 3 years ago, I enjoyed it and then never played it again, until today.

I run the game, Uplay pops up, and asks me for my CD key.
What ? Didn't I activate this 3 years ago ? Doesn't matter, I still got the key from Steam.
Uplay like "f*ck you, this key was already used". Yeah, nosh*t, it's the one I used to activate my game on this account.

So basically, my license for the game was deleted, and now I have a game I cannot play on my Steam list because of more Ubisoft BS.

Does anyone encountered a similar problem ?
Is there a solution other than shouting at Ubisoft ?

Thanks in advance.

uPlay did the same with my Splinter Cell Conviction key. Bought it, finished it and then didn't play it for a year, and last December I installed it again just to find according to uPlay I don't own the game and my key no longer works. I've only got one uPlay account, so it's not like I registered it on another account or anything.

I think it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t that not only does uPlay have the worst DRM platform in the industry, but your games just simply vanish for no apparent reason.

I that something like this before on another game, all I did was contact Uplay and explain it to them. They gave me some instructions and I was able to play again without issues.

I saw it on sale, scrolled down and saw Ubisoft as publisher, reminded me of that whole Might and Magic Heroes VI mess during the weekend, instantly No Buy.

I have several friends who are in the same boat, they have or (had) some ubisoft games which they had not played for sometime and went to replay them as you do with games you buy.

But low and behold they are met with a msg saying they do not own the game and there is no key, they were told by ubisoft support how to fix it but they are all in agreeance that they will not be buying anymore ubisoft titles (and they ahvent since).

Lesson here is not to bother with Ubisoft unless you are willing to be treated like a pirate and then have to chase them around asking and waiting for help.

Uplay = Udontplay?
Are you use you log in the same account?

Anyway i agree, uplay is seriously one of the biggest problem and it's not needed.

Ubisoft is one of the ♥♥♥♥♥iest gaming companies I've encountered.

I'm pretty sure I tried with the same account as before, and now that you guys tell me I'm not the only one, I know the problem is on Ubisoft's end.

So thanks for the replies, I will soon contact them to get my game back, since it's the only way.

It's sad because I started boycotting Ubisoft as a result of crap like that, but after a couple of years I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to give them a second chance. Turns out I might be too forgiving.

I could see there being a problem if you had installed it on a different computer than the one you were using when you ran it again after months of non play. If you didn't uninstall the game on that previous computer, I'd imagine that the key still sees it as activated, and thus rendering it unusable for other computers. This prevents buyers from distributing the same code everywhere. :U

Is that actually accurate? Because I format my computers frequently and usually I don't make a habit of uninstalling all my games first.

But even so, these games don't show up in my library at all.

I hate uPlay....

Same activation problems here. Looks like its not recognizing my steam bought code. Have sent an email to ubi-support, but looks like i wont be playing this for a while at least. Like everyone else i'm utterly appauld at the updating, e-mailing, and general hassle about simply playing a game i've already paid for. Its madness.
Have the same issue with multiple games!

Yeh twice, both times they ignored me - i have 2 other games i bought on ubisoft client also witht he same issue - note i bought them from their store even not a cheap russian site etc.

I gave up after contacting them via email 4 times and 2 times with live chat, i have little patience when i get ripped off and would rather move on and not deal with them again.
