Cannot activate this on Uplay!
so what happens is that i bought this ages ago. activated it way back when uplay was still in that old format [some will remember] now i'm reinstalling after forever and Uplay has updated into new looks/new systems or whatever and it is asking for my key, wich when i put in gives me a message: "This CD Key or Activation Code is already in use with another Uplay Account. For more information please contact Ubisoft Support" What can be done?

Are you absolutely sure you haven't got 2 different Uplay accounts, and that you're actually trying to activate it on another account?

I am having precisly the same problem, wanted to play this game after a year break or so. your discription says it all.

I will contact ubisoft support tommorrow see what happens

Exactly the same problem here, just sent a support question to Ubi ... let's see if they answer.

lol (sort of), got an answer from Ubisoft today, telling me that my game is associated with another account, with a certain email address. Only one little problem : this address ceased to exist at the very least 10 years ago !

Needless to say, I never used that address to login in Uplay since I bought From Dust (august 2011), which means THEY automatically associated with an old UBI account I had at one point in time (I've no frigging idea how they could come up with that address, though). I made a follow up, let's see how this evolves ...

wow. think the same might have happened to me (a small memory of a not-anymore-existing-email coming to mind here too). does this mean our From Dust game is lost in the limbo forever? Let us know how that evolves!

Funnily enough, I managed to remember the complete address (they only told me the domain name) and the password. I managed to login in Uplay with this, but did not try to launch From Dust this way, as I asked them to associate it with my "real" Uplay account.

I believe this is an old Ubisoft (maybe for forums) login, from a time when Uplay did not even exist, so I have no idea how they could link From Dust with it. Now let's see if they agree to transfer the ownership to the real account.

Yeah, well, no luck ... Not only did they answer that it was "impossible" to transfer the ownership to another account, they also implied I was unable to read ... *sighs*

As a result, I closed the ticket, and informed them that I'll never buy anything from Ubisoft again, but that I'll also make sure people know how they "take care" of their customers .... (which I'm doing by writing this, btw ;) )

Nothing more to see here, move along :) And I'll stick with that promise, believe me (luckily for me, I already bought Far Cry 3, lol). Anyway, that was almost outrageous.

I'm having this same issue, but it looks like somebody else already asked them to merge accounts and they said no. So now I have a useless game sitting in my Steam account. Going to email Valve support to see if they can remove the license so that it's not taking up space in my list.

I should have read this before posting my own thread on the subject, but whatever.
I will try and contact Ubisoft for this and hope for a solution, otherwise I'll ask for a refund.

The funnny thing is that their game didn't even work at launch, people had trouble with CD Keys, and years later what happens ? Same f*cking thing.

same problem, but with splintercell conviction. huge runaround. bought game again thorugh uplay directly and am still being told the serial is in use on another account, 30s after i bought it

no more uplay games for me

same here and not the first time i cannot play an ubi game i payed money for. s.h.i.t.t.y. company that steals ppls money and doesnt give a f.u.c.k. bout it. last time ive bought sth from them
