From Dust
Not buying because of uPlay
Ubisoft, take note. It doesn't matter whether a game is great or not, because people won't play it if they have to download additional software to do so.

Plus, we have to be +18 to create an Uplay account.
I downloaded From Dust yesterday, I spent real money, and now what?
I'm supposed to lie about my age and I can't play this game normally without internet.
Screw it!

You would need internet to play it even with out Uplay, and even with out DRM. Steam is always online. Also, dont even bother lying to your self about it, we all now you enter the wrong date on every age gate ever.
I bought this game for my son awhile back. He really enjoyed the game and completed it. At that time UPLAY wasn't required to play it. Today he decided to reinstall and play it again and the stupid UPLAY dialog popped up. After reading the comments here about UPLAY we have decided to uninstall the game. This is REALLY disappointing. I resent having to install another piece of software or log into another system to play a game we rightfully paid for. Steam should refuse to sell games with this requirement and condition.

You really care that you have it install a tiny ass program and login once to play a game?

Yes.
wrong?

Steam can be used in offline mode.

And From Dust can be played in offline mode too.

You just need to be online ONCE to validate your CD key in Uplay.

You mean, YOU won't play it. :P
it's a great game. too bad uplay = ♥♥♥♥.

I used to play this game offline on my laptop very often.

Well I had to forget about playing my game more than once because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ uplay.
i hate this kind of commercial politics : oblige someone to download the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ program you're tryng to launch, even if they don't want it and if the so called ♥♥♥♥♥♥ program is bugged.
ps : the hearts are for s h i t
Just so you guys know the only reason to complain about Uplay is because you have nothing better to do. Publishers can put whatever DRM they want into a game specially when there are so many people pirating the games. Just because you have to jump through a few hoops to play a game you obviously get joy out of once in a while doesn't mean you should be up in arms about it. All the people complaining are Falsely entitled little pricks.
Um, no. I don't want to have to have Steam, uPlay, Origin... etc.. on my system just because each publisher wants their own thing. I mean, yes, they CAN put any DRM into a game they want. I just hope that they understand the consequences of doing so.

You're whining about Uplay on STEAM. You might as well close your steam account. You should be glad Ubisoft still sell their games through steam, and don't just sell them all through Uplay only.
