Save Data Recovery?
I had to whipe my hard drive a while back due to a virus, I know that uplay does a cloud sync for their save games. I just redownloaded the game tonight and upon playing the game all my data is gone. (now before you make sarcastic comments) I thought I could just use the cloud save from uplay servers. What is the point of cloud saves when you cannot even use them?

i have a simiilar problem.
i created a new windows user profile, connected steam to it, started driver there, entered my uplay credentials and then ... all my driver profile + unlocks were gone. same problem (all progress lost) under my original windows user profile now when launching driver.

i guess it simply synced the "empty" profile that was newer with my existing without asking if everything should be deleted, shame on the devs

From Steam Discussions about Assassin’s Creed Unity (it can refer to all Uplay DRM games with Uplay Cloud support and also other Uplay games maybe):

Turbid TG1:
'Can't synchronize my cloud saves.
I was in Sequence 6 and now I might have lost all of my progress.'

'That sucks, I had to turn off the cloud syncing myself earlier and had lost progress, losing 6 sequences would suck pretty badly. Here was the info I got from Ubisoft:

"The cloud servers check file information when syncing and will update to the latest used profile. This information is synced to the cloud upon closing your game. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually download a savegame file from the servers.

Unfortunately, if your save file is not available in-game, there is no way to recover the data. I recommend that you disable the cloud sync feature via the Uplay Client options to prevent any future issues.

I also recommend that you use a third-party game save manager such as GameSave Manager in case the issue reoccurs:

We have forwarded similar instances up to our development teams for further review, and I apologize for any inconvenience."

He didn't tell me where the data is stored, but it might the the data inside:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames '
