Does 'Driver San Francisco' work on Windows 8
In short, I'm thinking of grabbing this KooL game in the Steam sales for our little basic Windows 8 system, but not sure if it will actually work?

No demo available and no refunds on Steam... {}¬_¬} sigh

Edit: Our system basics: Windows 8 x64, i7 3960X, 32Gb 2133Mhz RAM, Nvidia GTX 680 4Gb VRAM, ASUS Xonar HDAV (8Ch/192Khz), 1x 2560x1600 & 2x 1920x1080 and 18Tb total

I guess I found out the hard and wasted money way... it does NOT work and UBisoft don't care about it, as the fault is the same fault the game has had since day one []¬_¬]

Valve... this game and UBi's stupid UPlay rubbish shouldn't be allowed on you service!!!

[]?_?] ...so sad that I have to do this ans waste time []o_o]

Added my basic specs to the original/first post, but don't think it will help much, as it seems many have the same issue with different spec and on Windows 7.

No idea what to tweak/break to get it to work, but really wish I could just get a refund now.

It works for me (Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64), but the game is glitched. During chases, the police pass throught the ground or simply can't follow the car. It does this since I got Windows 8.

Hello Evil Fazz,
Hi, you've gotten it to work the Driver San Francisco? I bought the other day and I could play with W8, if you found it a solution I would love to TELL me. Thanks friend!

Hi UBiSergi

Sadly, no luck with Driver San Francisco as UBi customer support have been pointless to me, as they didn't help at all and don't give refunds either, so I'm stuck with none working game that I paid for []¬_¬]

If you can help me work it out, that would be KooL, as I have tried a number of typical changes, but non have worked so far and still just crashes the moment I lanuch the game via the awful UPlay software.

Driver San Fransisco is fully compatible with Windows 8 32 and 64 bits. I play on Win8 Pro 64x.

Hi, I recently tried to replay the Driver San Francisco and now works but not as I should. I think the solution that worked is because some updates this Windows8 but I'm not sure.
The problem I have now is that after 15 minutes of playing I start down the frames to less than 30 and becomes unplayable, once again restart the game work perfectly for another 15 minutes, is strange. If you knew the solution, my Windows8 operating system is 64-bit. Sorry for my English

About the 15 min problem. I recently started having a similar probelm. After approximatly 15 min, the frames go down, but instead of being unplayable, the game still run normaly for approx 5 or 10 min until the frames go down again. During that time, all cars (expecialy during chases)
start glitching (passing throught walls and ground, becoming uncontrollable, etc) and "kind of" lagging. I re-installed it 3 days ago and the problem seems to be solved. Just try to re-install it (WARNING: Do a backup of your save games. I already lost all my saves after re-installing it).
