LEGO Digital Designer
Hi Folks,

We've had a few people ask us about supporting the LEGO Digital Designer. Well... we already do!

Here's some info for you;


Export the LDD LXFML files and put them here:

%appdata%\WB Games\LEGO Badger\SAVEDGAMES\CONTENT\S1-SYSGLOBAL\MODS\MODELS

They will now show up in your models list. Though they might be missing an icon, so make sure you name them correctly!

The same works in reverse, though we heavily recommend that you backup anything you put INTO LDD, as it might not be 100% compatible and may break your models.


Get building and creating!

Can we get support for dropping in just a .zip with the models inside? I know it's currently possible to make a subfolder in there and place the models, but having .zip support would be nice.

This is an incredible feature. Having a large library of LDD models already for real projects, its awesome to see them incorporated in a game.

I created an LDD user palette for easier building inside LDD:

It contains all the bricks that are available in Lego Worlds right now. Download this and put it in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\UserPalettes. Then start LDD in regular mode (not extended) and select the palette via the button in the lower right corner of the brick palette.

The game struggles incredibly when opening a large model. I have a ~250 stud long aircraft carrier and it loads, but has a hard time being placed to the point where the game is unplayable.

I recommend putting LDD into the "Tools" Category in users' steam libraries for easy access, and then making it easy to import models from there into the game and vice-versa. Full-blown asset management in-game would be great to add as well!

Was having some troubles with LDD Exporting to the correct format, issue self-resolved.
LDD palette link above wasn't working, but DasMatze has corrected it.

When I try to place an imported model my screen turns blue. Anyone else getting this? It was just a 3 piece minifigure.

This is great. Granted a polished way to do this might be nice but it is Day 1 and loving it so far.

Friend had a lot of issues importing creations from the gallery, they were generally distorted beyond recognition due to either missing bricks or 'replaced' bricks. This is day 1 so I'm not expecting flawless behavior, just saying this feature needs a lot of work. I'll be happy as long as LDD creations are completely supported by the full release, possibly make a separate edition of LDD to accommodate custom animated buildings such as castle gates etc.

I'd be happy to help contribute with ideas on how the tool could work (some pretty simple ideas already that could make it easy for most people to use). Even if it's just something with a few set basic animations it'd be fantastic.

I think the main issue with imports right now is that the game cannot handle 'unusual' rotations. like things at a 45 degree angle or bricks on their side in relation to the ground. This is obviously crucial for anything beyond beginner level designs.

Regardless of problems, this is a phenomenal feature and adds a massive catalog of creations to the game immediately.

Dammit, my 15,000 brick model crashes the game as well as ldd, anyways, this feature makes this game the best thing ever.
