Great new gameplay mechanics are introduced but becomes too uncanny for a series that should focus mainly on stealth.
Balance is out of the picture (as expected from a Ubisoft game) with the Mark & Execution feature being too simple and easy to exploit. New features like interrogation segments also don't do much, apart from being something like inevitable, interactive cutscenes.
What's worst is how the game consantly throws numerous enemies at you, expecting a combat reaction that can be felt as the only obvious choice you're always left with.
What's that? You want to sneak past enemies? Forget it. That's almost impossible unless you go super hardcore and have the patience of a tortoise. There's no room for real stealth with the cramped level design and the act of going into a killing spree is forced in your face.
Overall, this is almost nothing like what a Splinter Cell should be. The new stealth system took me too long to get used to but it does and by the time you do, it's an upset to what this game has turned out to be. Most SC oldschool fans can agree on this.
This is a simply shame, a pathetic attempt at appeasing the casuals by Ubisoft.
