Splinter Cell Conviction on Windows 8: Game doesen't open? I know a fix...
So, since I upgrade to Windows 8, Splinter Cell Conviction stoped working. I try to run it but nothing happens, not even a error message. I googled a fix but found none... Until I found the source of the problem and a solution by myself by lucky.

So, I have a Dell XPS with a NVidia 540GT videocard. I tweaked the configurations to get the best possible of the card. One option that I turned on was FXAA Anti-Alias. For some reason, if this option is enabled on Windows 8, Splinter Cell Conviction just can't launch. Not even the uPlay thing launch. No error messages or anything like that. On Windows 7 the game works just fine with this option turned on but, for some reason, on Windows 8 it just fails.

So, to fix the problem you can just add the game executable (program files\steam\steamapps\common\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction\src\system\conviction_game.exe) to the program settings on Managing 3D settings on Nvidia Control Panel and turn off the FXAA option.

The game will take some time to launch(10 seconds or so), but it'll work perfect.

windows 8 is not recommended for games ...in fact it was mostly made for programmers

Why would you get windows 8 when windows 7 works perfectly fine?

Guys, really? The point here os not discuss wich Windows is best or worst, the point is if you get to upgrade to Windows 8, have a Nvidia videocard and is having problem to run Splinter Cell Conviction, just try this fix and give it a go.

Also, Windows 8 is just fine for games, I don't had any problem with other games so far (and I have A LOT of games here).

why would you also use win8 when it just came out should at least wait a year before even touching that mess of an os just so they fix the more problems with it

hmm, re-installed game, now see "operating system not supported".

Again, the point is NOT if Windows 8 is good or bad, or if you should use it or not. I'll not make a point for using Windows 8, it's just a OS and people are free to choose any OS they like. I really don't care if anyone here like's it or not, and I really don't have to justify why I'm using it to anyone but me.

The point is IF you are USING Windows 8 and want to play Splinter Cell Conviction and is having problem, tham you can try this fix.

Hope that can help somebody, that's all.

Yes, this message will appear everytime that you try to play the game, you can just click OK and the game will still run. The message will appear two times, one for the uPlay and other for the game itself.

Existe alguma forma similar do jogo rodar?
