All Dried Up (Hard Mode) - Mod Version 1.2.0
All Dried Up is a mode that (hopefully) makes Wasted a little more challenging for vets or anyone who just wants the game to have a bit more bite to it.

The main focus of the mod is to try and re-balance the economy a bit and make it more difficult for some cheese tactics.

What this mod changes.

  • Ammo drops have been reduced a bit, as well as the possible stack sizes you can find. I have no control over what enemies are holding so the ammo they give remains unchanged, making them the #1 source for ammo now, which makes sense. Searching boxes and lockers will now only give you 1-2 ammo of any given type, hopefully forcing you to bring your own ammo and diversify your guns. (Way to easy to just use the Emma Grand and ONLY the Emma Grand) This helps to fight back at that. It also has the added benefit of making melee a little more usefull as it lets you save on ammo.

  • Fanny Packs have all been made more obscure. They can still be found where they were before but less often, they also have been given different drop rates making bum bags the easiest to find and side slung the hardest. Fanny packs are in the middle which is good since Val sells those normally.

  • Val has not been changed, but your appreciation of her might since she is now a reliable source of ammo and fanny packs. Her prices are still high but since you can easily walk out with 600+ tp from even the most basic runs I think we can all learn to live under her oppressive iron price fist.

  • Some of the more powerful hangovers have been tweaked (more will be once I learn their names so i can all them with getbuff() ) And to make the game more difficult 10 new negative hangovers have been added to floor 6 and below, making it so there is not always a positive hangover on floor 6 meaning you will have to take a de-buff or venture lower...


    Of course this mod needs more testing to make sure the spawn rates are working as intended, so please feel free to give me feedback or any bugs that occur.

Nice work. I went through your code though, and it looks like you increased the weight of buckshot and revolver ammo? Their defaults were shotgun 0.15 and revolver 0.05. Was that intentional?

Actually yes, shoguns were buffed a tiny bit on a gut feeling, im not oposed to lowering it again, but just from my playtests I felt it needed to be more common as shotguns were one of the weapons I ignored the most in my time with the game. And making thier ammo more frequent might make them a viable alternative to the heroic pistol.

Revolvers always felt like their ammo was to rare as well, and I only used them for special occasions, but I felt they were never as scary as me armed with a clash and 300 ammo. So they also got a buff. But your right it seems their buff was a little to much, I'll lower that one a bit again.

Ultimetly while their weights are higher the max ammount that can spawn in a stack is still lower making ammo still rarer over all. This is all experimental, of course, till I hopefully hit that sweet spot with the weights.

Oh ok, I was just surprised about the shotguns. I actually used them extremely frequently and to great effect but I can see that that wasn't the same with everybody.

Good luck with the weight testing dude, it took me WEEKS to get it right with binge edition. It's very tricky stuff, I would recommend using my "devgun" to test. lol.

Alright ill lower the shotguns as well, better to go up then down in this sort of mod.
