Ruler: Isn't Cheating

I use ruler and when I say or someone realizes themselves against me and call me a cheater or "hacker".
If this is cheating, tell me how to solve something that is not on the PC and with infinite resources to make one for myself. (Pen + Paper = GG ¬¬')
There are several games on the internet in the same style as ShellShock Live, as DDTank, Browser game, it has rules for certain angles within the game (Find out for yourself, there are 3 so far and only own one in my knowledge). Inevitable for these games should be contributing to teach players how to aim and shoot.

Hereby I make a suggestion to be bringing specific missions, unlike the common missions in single player ... Where teaches step by step, the pre-basic weapons available, the "mathematics" of the angles, movement and wind ...Between others. These missions can be an "Introduction" for the chapter and put into pratice.
Plus: Add challenges to these mission chapters and the "Tournament Matches" found in Multiplayer.

To finish, tell me how you guys think about using ruler in this game and others similar...There's a idea better than mine?

I think using a ruler in an online match is just wrong. Its like bringing aimbot into a CSGO turnament. You have a 100% chance of hitting your enemy without needing any skill = You have a clear advantage over players who play fair online with the given methods in game.
Using a ruler to learn aiming is fine, but don't do it online pls. You can also learn to aim in skirmish and missions with it.
Also learning from playing with the given methods is not that hard. You even have a Tracer on every of your past shots in 95% of all lobbies.
If you use ruler in an online match though...you are a dirty cheater for me.

there's even an item called tracer which is what ruler mimics, you should be using IN GAME item tracer, not out of game.

Still...I believe using Ruler isn't cheating, because everyone have access and other games has, and you can even memorize the angles and don't miss a shot. Same for who uses.
And every match, i find someone using ruler...
I do not doubt that the high-level players also use a ruler.

That's the thing. For us high levels,many whom owned the game since day one, knowing that some use rulers, we get called out for using them when we actually don't, and that's just what ruins the game I believe. Those who have actual skill are called out as being cheaters, it's pretty insulting to be honest considering how many hours we've put into the game to learn how to play without the use of outside tools, and just from practice, and learning how the weapons work. I won't play with someone who uses outside tools to their advantage even if it is available for everyone to use if they want too. I don't see it as fair, and I don't think if actual tournaments where you can win prizes existed, it would be counted as fair either. People should stick to learning the game on their own, if they have memorized it into their brains, then good for them, as long as they aren't using outside tool. So I do believe it is cheating. But, just my two cents.

Do these rulers actually do anything other than provide visual assistance in judging the distance between two tanks?

If that is all they do, I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about. If someone wants to go to the effort of drawing such a thing up and sticking it to their screen to provide a bit of assistance in a $7 beer-and-pretzels game, I really don't see the issue.

Cheats in other games are available to everyone too but does that makes them legal? No of course not... Your point that its available to everyone is pretty much stupid. Then we could all play games with aimbot, wallhack infinite health/ammo because hey, everybody can have it right?


I can't stop you from playing with a ruler but I can just not play with you so the problem is solved for me. Just have some brain next time and think if your point is not completly stupid.

A well drawn ruler is pretty much an aimbot that shows exactly where a shot will land when you shoot at angle X with Power Y. Then they pretty much just lay the ruler over their screen and look what angle they need to shoot to hit the enemy tank.

Honestly if your trying hard at winning this game, your doing something wrong.

People play this game to have fun, not to try and win every fight etc.

If you honestly have to result to using a ruler (obviously you suck at games), Well thats just it. You obviously just suck at games.

This ruins the whole point of shellshock
you have to guess the trajectory and velocity to hit the tank

but...

youre just like griefing by just instantaneously hitting the tank without effort (except u need to measure before u hit, n00b). And leaving the other team/tank no chance to hit you once
THERE should be a report button for using a measurement tool or using a tracer hack (the item in your list)



Only thing that ruler is fun for...
Challenging ur friends to dares (ex. changing twitter profile) and just hide a bit of your ruler-aimbot stuff and just troll em xDDDDDD

You give yourself an advantage normally not available in-game.
Putting a crosshair on the center of your screen when using a Sniper in some random FPS or playing hardcore FPS games without any HUD and etc..
You tell me, is that cheating?

Either way, if you play this with a ruler or some tool to help you aim, then why are you even playing at all? How satisfying is it even to get a perfect sniper hit, when you used a tool to get it? After your 20th win in a row due to using a ruler, does it even feel like a win at all anymore?

You're literally ruining everyone's fun, including your own. I'd say that is the definition of being a fool.
