32" Emerson Tv Input/resoulution problem

So the game installedcorrecntly and stuff but there is a problem with the resoulution of tv that i play on. the game starts and i hear music but all i get is a black screen with an error saying that my tv doesnt support the resolution/fps or something. as far as i can tell nobody has had this problem but i doubt that many people who have a pc also a tv. Ive tried changing my resolution but i cant seem to get anywhere. suggestions?? Please help!!!
