is this game worth buying? i playd it lots of years ago, was fun the space battles but now it doesnot looks the same. Is the multiplayer good?

This game is totally worth buying! The multiplayer died years ago because of the whole Steam to Retail Version Mismatch ordeal (of which I know how Retail Users CAN become compatible with Steam), and Retake Empire at War is here to help (try) to unite the players of this game together in a casual enviroment that allows them to have fun.

You should think about joining up, we don't require you to be commited or anything (such as having to play the game at certain times etc.) it is totally on your time, when you want to play, you can post about it in our Multiplayer Forums, get troubleshooting help, etc.

I used to own this game, and really want to get it again. Anybody think its going to drop below 33% during the sale? I'm definitely getting it, I'm just willing to wait a few days to save a few bucks is all. I saw some of the other Star Wars games dropped below 33%, but no sign of Empire at War doing that yet.

i used to play this all the time as a kid on one of my first pcs. Whats the status of the multiplayer, is it active?

The land combat in this game is pretty much just like any other RTS (which is good just not special). However the space combat in this game was simply amazing. I even found it more fun and entertaining then games like sins of the solar empire. The Campaign mode and even the tutorial mode were both very entertaining and really held your interest. Best of all, those now better feeling then going onto a map with the executer or death star to really liven things up.

Yeah, its not dropping during this sale past that. I bought it. 33% off is still decent on a $20 game, its enough to get a bunch of other deals on the store's front page - Natural Selection 2, The Walking Dead, Chivarly, Saints Row 3, Fallout: New Vegas, etc, and still come to around the same price.
