Okay, it's not something you "have" its a rather common thing actually.

Version Mismatch can happen when:
You or other is playing a mod or different mod
You on FoC and other on EaW, or vice versa
You are playing a non-fixed retail version and other is steam, or vice versa
You have left over mod files in your data folder and they do not, or they do and you don't or perhaps you all do but not the same files

Version Mimatch is exactly that... a different version. If you hover over a game and it says "Empire at War Game" while you are in FoC, that means its an EaW host and that is why it is red. With mods, I try to keep seperate data folders for each mod (that I don't run from the mods folder anyway, such as RaW which I opt to just run completely from data to avoid having it in two locations since the AI can only run when in Data/XML) and I always keep a vanilla game backup just in case I need to become vanilla again.

It's not anything wrong with your game, just a different version than whoever you are trying to connect to.

Yeah, I always thought they shouldn't - thought they should be seperate severs. But, maybe they couldn't render it that way, since FoC is an expansion and needs EaW to run - who knows. Not like the public will ever understand some things, as Lucasarts and Petroglyph have never really said much.
